Chapter 77 - Aileen's Arrival

Li Qian widened his eyes, surprised. "You're going to move against Fengyun?"

Sun Zhewen quickly glared at him, making a shushing gesture. "Quiet! Just the two of us know. Don't let anyone else find out."

Li Qian patted his chest, assuring him. "Alright, I understand. I've long disliked that damn company."

Sun Zhewen was still uneasy, cautioning him. "Be careful. They might have guns. Don't let anyone spot you."

Li Qian said confidently, "Got it. You know what I'm capable of, right?"

Sun Zhewen replied, "That's why I'm telling you this."

Li Qian took a piece of paper from his bag and handed it to Sun Zhewen. "Alright, alright, take a look at the list. I don't want these people. We'll assess the others later."

Sun Zhewen took the list and couldn't help but swear. "Son of a bitch, you've crossed out half the people!"

Li Qian crossed his arms and said, "You said it, I'm the one who should clean up."

Sun Zhewen frowned and said, "It doesn't have to be half the people, right?"

Li Qian shrugged and said, "Anyway, I've given them to you, you figure it out. Hurry up, okay? If you want the police station under our control."

Sun Zhewen waved his hand helplessly, saying, "Alright, alright." But he was muttering to himself, so many people, how am I supposed to deal with them? He'd have to rely on the County Bureau.

At this moment, his phone rang, and he answered it directly, "Zhiyan, what's up?"

Li Zhiyan's slightly complaining voice came from the other end of the phone, "Zhewen, why didn't you come over last night?"

Sun Zhewen quickly explained, "Ah, I drank too late last night, I was afraid of disturbing you, so I didn't come."

Li Zhiyan's voice was full of disappointment, "I waited for you all night last night, I miss you."

Sun Zhewen quickly comforted, "Yeah, it's just too late. I'll come over tonight."

Li Zhiyan's tone immediately brightened. "Great! Don't you dare stand me up again tonight."

Sun Zhewen assured her, "I won't."

Li Zhiyan said sweetly, "Mwah, love you."

After hanging up the phone, Sun Zhewen continued to ponder the personnel arrangements. He couldn't report everyone to the County Bureau; rejecting so many people would draw criticism. Just then, his phone rang again. It was an unfamiliar number. He hesitated before answering, but the phone kept ringing. He picked up and asked, "Who is it?"

A coquettish voice came from the other end. "Oh, it's been less than a few hours, and you've already forgotten me?"

Sun Zhewen was puzzled. "Who are you?"

The person on the other end pretended to be hurt. "Oh, I'm so sad. Last night, you called me darling in bed, and now you're asking who I am?"

Sun Zhewen finally realized, "Oh, Aileen?"

Aileen said with dissatisfaction, "Are you still calling that old woman 'baby'?"

Sun Zhewen said impatiently, "What do you want?"

Aileen said, "Can't I call you if I don't have anything to do? You really are like that saying, 'once you get what you want, you become heartless'."

Sun Zhewen said, "Just say what you want."

Aileen said, "I want to treat you to lunch."

Sun Zhewen refused without even thinking, "No need for lunch, I'm at work."

Aileen said, "Oh, I'm at your office door." At this moment, the door was pushed open, and Aileen walked in, then closed and locked the door behind her. She walked over and sat directly on top of him.

Sun Zhewen tried to push her away, but she turned around and hugged him, her voice coquettish, "I took good care of you last night."

Sun Zhewen coughed awkwardly and said, "Ahem, I'm at work."

Aileen blinked and said, "I know. I won't bother you, will I?"

Sun Zhewen said, annoyed, "You think this doesn't bother me?"

Aileen chuckled and said, "Hehe, some people wouldn't be bothered. Like Liu Qingfeng."

Sun Zhewen frowned and said, "What are you trying to say?"

Aileen said, "I already said it. I'm treating you to lunch."

Sun Zhewen said, "Didn't we already eat last night?"

Aileen rolled her eyes at him and said, "I didn't invite him. I'm sincerely asking you to dinner."

Sun Zhewen looked at her suspiciously and asked, "You're really alright?"

Aileen pouted and said, "I'm fine, don't think of me as so calculating, okay? Can't I look for you if I'm fine? After all, we spent a night together."

Sun Zhewen said helplessly, "Alright, where do you want to go?"

Aileen kissed him on the face and said happily, "That's a good boy. Come out in a moment at the corner, I'll be waiting for you there."

Sun Zhewen watched Aileen's departing figure, his heart a mess. He didn't know where all this he was involved in would lead him.

At noon, Sun Zhewen came to the corner, and Aileen was already waiting there.

Aileen smiled, went up, and took Sun Zhewen's arm, saying, "Let's go, I'll take you to a good place."

Sun Zhewen followed her to an upscale restaurant. After they were seated, Aileen ordered a table full of dishes.

Sun Zhewen looked at the spread of food and said, "There's so much, it'll be a waste if we can't finish it."

Aileen said, "It's alright, we can take our time."

During the meal, Aileen kept putting food in Sun Zhewen's bowl and occasionally made some flirty remarks.

Sun Zhewen couldn't help but ask, "Aileen, what exactly are you trying to do?"

Aileen put down her chopsticks, looked at Sun Zhewen seriously, and said, "Sun Zhewen, actually, I quite admire you."

Sun Zhewen sneered and said, "Admire me? Don't joke around."

Aileen said, "I'm not joking. I think you're different from the others."

Sun Zhewen said, "What's different?"

Aileen said, "You have a sense of justice that makes you special."

Sun Zhewen said, "Sense of justice? In your eyes, how much is that worth?"

Aileen said, "Sun Zhewen, don't be so extreme. Actually, I also hope there are more people with a sense of justice."

Sun Zhewen shook his head and said, "Aileen, don't take me for a fool. You suddenly say these things to me. You definitely have a purpose."

Aileen said, "What purpose could I have? I just feel better talking to you about these things."

Sun Zhewen stopped talking and silently ate his meal.

After finishing the meal, Aileen said, "Sun Zhewen, thank you for having dinner with me."

Sun Zhewen said, "I hope this is the last time."

After saying that, Sun Zhewen turned and left, leaving Aileen alone, sitting there in a daze.
