Chapter 2 - MY SYSTEM

[System will begin self evaluation]

{Yes/No}

For a while i starred at the image, breaking down everything it had said to me.

"I was chosen."

"in another world."

Everything was just so confusing.

I turned back to the image. It seemed to be waiting for my permission to do the self evaluation something.

they'll be no harm in trying, I assured my self.

"Yes." I said.

[Self Evaluation test will begin 3…2…1]

{Self Evaluation has begun}

And the image vanished, for a while everything went quite. Then another message appeared.

¤ System type - {None}

¤ Name - {Ethen Heart}

¤ Race - {Human}

¤ Title - {None}

¤ Ability - {None}

¤ Strength - {0/50}

¤ Speed - {0/50}

¤ Agility - {0/50}

¤ Exp. - {0/50}

What the fuck do they mean by strength zero!

Slowly I turned my head, luckily she was still fast asleep.

Taking a deep breath I analysed my condition.

I was chosen for something I have no idea about in another world. The people I thought to be Jesus and Mary were my parents.

Staring down to the evaluation result again, I read it carefully.

Exp? I repeated, confused.

Another image instantly popped out, and I read.

[Exp: Experience point: This are point awarded to you by the system in your daily life. This point can be added to your strength, speed or agility. Depending on users choice.]

I was starting to like this system, it had explained everything for me perfectly.

'System type?' I reapted, hoping it would explain what it ment.

{System type: None}

Well...thanks for explaining! I snapped, not understanding what it ment by system type.

Titile?

{Titile: A Titile would be given to you depending on your achievement.} The system explained.

Ability?

{Every one Is born with an ability.}

'How do I unlock my ability?' I asked getting used to the system.

{Ability can be unlocked by constantly absorbing mana into the mana core located within you.}

I was about asking another question but was cut off, as another notification popped out.

{*Quest* Research and find out everything you can about basic Mana and cultivation within one year.}

The single word "Death." Had stolen the warmth from my body, and I stared at the message petrified.

"What are u still doing awake boy?" My mother's voice snapped me back to reality. "Look whose hungry." she added.

My face went pale as she said that.

Taking me to her embrace she pulled up her shirt.

"I'm not hungry!" I shouted, waving my hand over her well sculpted boobs.

Although what I said wasn't what I heard, I had no teeth and could barely talk, but I hope she understood the message I was trying to convey.

"You really are hungry." she interpreted, pushing my mouth to her nipple. My face went red.

*******

It's been nearly a year now. I didn't have much hobbies except touring the library in the house. Luckily for me, my dad loved reading and always carried me to the library to read with him, but I can't actually imagine the horror in his face if he found out that I was actually reading...

My mom on the other hand loved me so much, she wouldn't even leave me alone for some minutes.

In the long run of staying in the library, I had found out a lot of things about mana and cultivation completing my Quests.

So technically every one Is born with an ability and a mana core, but one can only unlock his ability when he has awakened, and the only way to awaken is through constant cultivation.

Apparently my mom could heal and my father was a fire mage, I on the other hand had no ability yet.

I also found out that there were ten stages in a person's mana core, each stage divided into three and they are represented with colours. For example, someone at the Novice stage whose mana core is originally dark yellow, after years of proper cultivation his mana core turns light yellow then turns a more brighter yellow before braking through to the initiate stage.

● Novice (yellow)

● Initiate (Orange)

● Seeker (green)

● Acolyte (Blue)

● Channeler (Purple)

● Warden (Black)

● Lightbearer (Red)

● Sovereign (White)

● Master (Gold)

● Grand master (No book had any record of the colour of a grand master's mana core)

Then I also found out something very important.

My parents were poor.

My mom owned a small bar that bearly got her enough, and some thugs always came to collect what they branded as task.

'Profile.' I said.

{User has been rewarded 100coins}

[Accept] [Decline]

For a I stared at the message, from the world I came from people don't Decline money.

"Accept." I said, still no believing there was an option like decline.

[User has accepted reward]

'Coin.' I said, hoping for an explanation

{Coins: This are used to purchase item from the shop}

'Shops.' I said, almost immediately.

{User is yet to unlock shop} the system snapped, marching my speed.

I fell on my bed frustrated.

The system vanished.

As I stared at my rooftop I drifted in thought.

My parents were undeniably poor, not just middle class poor but lower class poor. My dad was a fire mage and normally goes hunting, he then sells beast cores to merchandise. My mom on the other hand owned a small bar.

But somehow...I loved we were poor. At least it made me have hope that I won't end up useless because I'll be inheriting nothing except for the bar and probably the house.

Since I won't be inheriting any ancestral wealth I have to work hard.

During my little research, I had found out that the must paid job is be a mage or at least learn any form of martial art.

You can either join a faction after your school and make serious money by killing beast or demons of high levels with your teammate, or you go solo. Just that when someone goes on a solo mission his dead body doesn't return.

Another option is to be a member of a kings guard, but such a reputable position is hardly impossible to get.

One can also decide to be a blacksmith. But it's hard Labour, and even though I had planned to be a more usefully somebody in this word, hard labour was never going to be in the option.

'I'll probably be a mage.' I said to myself.

{*Quest* User is expected to cultivate and awaken within one year}

My brain went blank as I read the message that had popped out.
