The world shattered—not into darkness, not into pain, but into layers.
A rush of wind tore past Lian Hong's ears.Stone twisted.Light fragmented.Three corridors flashed before his eyes.
Silver.Shadow.Fate.
All three paths pulled at him simultaneously—not physically, but conceptually.
Su Qingyue's scream echoed from multiple angles at once.
Yan Ming's voice roared:
"STAY AWARE! HOLD YOUR WILL!"
Zhou Shan's voice screeched:
"WE ARE BEING NOODLE-PULLED BY THE UNIVERSE—!!"
Then—
Everything stopped.
Not softly.
Completely.
A silence so absoluteit crushed the echoes that should have followed.
Lian Hong opened his eyes.
He was standing.
But not in one place.
Three surroundings existed around him—overlapping slightly, like translucent rooms layered atop each other.
Left side: a chamber of silver light.Right side: a hall of flowing shadow.Ahead: a corridor rippling with shifting fate.
Yet his body was singular. His shadow was singular. His mind was singular.
Su Qingyue's voice came from the silver chamber.
Yan Ming's voice came from the shadow chamber.
Zhou Shan was… somewhere between screaming and sobbing, possibly in all three.
Lian Hong steadied his breath.
"What… is this?"
A whisper answered—but this time,it was not from the fracture.
—the spiral does not divide the beareronly the choices—
Yan Ming's voice resonated from the shadowed layer:
"Lian Hong, focus.These aren't illusions."
Su Qingyue's voice echoed from the silver room:
"You're experiencing all three paths at once."
Zhou Shan's muffled voice came from nowhere:
"I AM EXPERIENCING A HEART ATTACK—!!"
Lian Hong took a step.
All three layers reacted—each path shifting independently, yet his foot touched only one surface.
His mind processed all three inputs at once.
It should have been impossible.Overwhelming.Insane.
But instead—it felt natural.
Yan Ming observed quietly.
"Your resonance is adapting to overlap."
Su Qingyue touched the boundary of her layer.
"It's like… we're beside you,but separated by thin glass."
Lian Hong nodded slowly.
"…I see all three of you."
Zhou Shan cried:
"DO YOU SEE A PATH OUT—!?PLEASE SAY YOU DO—"
Lian Hong exhaled.
"I understand what the Spiral wants."
All three voices hushed.
Yan Ming asked:
"What does it want you to do?"
Lian Hong lifted his hand.
In the silver layer—light curled around his fingers. In the shadow layer—darkness flowed upward. In the fate layer—reality shimmered.
"It wants me to walk all three paths."
Su Qingyue gasped.
Yan Ming went still.
Zhou Shan wailed:
"WHY WOULD ANYTHING WANT THAT—!!!"
A new whisper rolled through the layers:
—three choicesone willone outcome—
Yan Ming interpreted instantly.
"It's not splitting your future."
"It's giving you three teststhat all lead to the same endpoint."
Su Qingyue frowned.
"Why show them separately?"
Yan Ming's answer was heavy:
"To show him what each version of him could become."
Lian Hong's heart tightened.
"…Three versions?"
Yan Ming nodded.
"Will.Shadow.Fate."
Zhou Shan protested:
"CAN WE CHOOSE THE VERSION WHERE WE ALL SURVIVE—??"
The whisper answered:
—all paths lead to survivalor none—
Lian Hong frowned.
"…'Or none?'"
Yan Ming's expression hardened.
"That means if you fail in one,you fail in all."
Silence.
Real, heavy silence.
Su Qingyue stepped toward the boundary of her layer.
"Then we stay with him."
Yan Ming nodded.
"I remain here as well."
Zhou Shan sobbed:
"I WILL CHEER FROM WHEREVER THE UNIVERSE DROPPED ME—!!"
The layers shifted again.
Silver brightened.Shadow deepened.Fate flickered.
Lian Hong's second heartbeat aligned—
Thump.Thump.Thump.
The Spiral whispered:
—walk—
And the layers tugged at him.
Su Qingyue called out:
"Lian Hong—pick one to start with!"
Yan Ming added:
"Any one.The others will synchronize."
Lian Hong looked around.
Three paths.
Three tests.
Three versions of himself.
He whispered:
"…Begin with Will."
Su Qingyue's layer brightened.
Yan Ming nodded approval.
Zhou Shan fainted again somewhere.
The silver path pulsed—
and everything shifted.
The shadow and fate layers darkened to translucent silhouetteswhile the silver layer solidified around him.
The chamber became real.
The other two became outlines—visiblebut distantlike reflections on glass.
Su Qingyue stood beside him, fully present now.
Yan Ming and Zhou Shan were faint echoes.
Lian Hong exhaled.
"Path of Will… first."
Su Qingyue touched her blade.
"We're ready."
A doorway of pure silver formed in the air.
Yan Ming's voice echoed faintly:
"We will monitor the other layers.Do not lose focus."
Zhou Shan's voice echoed faintly:
"IF THE OTHER PATHS HAVE MONSTERS—PLEASE IGNORE THEM—!!"
The Spiral whispered:
—stepand the first reflection begins—
Lian Hong stepped forward.
He crossed the threshold.
The silver world unfolded.
And the test of Will began.
