A high school boy named Akira lived in a house with his elementary school-aged younger sister, Hana. Akira knocked on Hana's door to wake her up.
Akira: "Hana, wake up quickly, you'll be late!"
He heard no sound from inside her room.
Akira: "I'm coming in if you don't answer again, you know."
Akira entered Hana's room. Inside, the bed was messy, and Hana was still sleeping in it. Akira playfully poked her cheek to tease her. Hana slowly woke up, looking groggily at her older brother. Suddenly, Hana's face turned red.
Hana: "What are you doing, Big Brother?"
Akira: "It's obvious. Waking up my still-sleeping little sister. Hurry up and get ready, or you'll be late."
Time passed. Akira had prepared food on the dining table, and Hana had finished bathing and getting dressed in her uniform, heading to the table.
Hana: "It smells so good!"
Akira: "Of course. I made your favorite food."
Hana sat down and looked at the meal on the table.
Hana: "Wow, omelette and milk. Where's the candy?"
Akira: "No candy today. You ate a lot of it yesterday."
Hana made a pouting face.
Hana: "Ehh..."
Akira and Hana ate together at the dining table. After they finished, Akira and Hana walked together toward school. Midway, a luxurious car stopped beside them.
The car window rolled down, and in the front seat, a woman named Mei was visible, along with her daughter, Emi.
Mei: "Akira, good morning."
Akira returned Mei's greeting.
Akira: "Good morning to you too, Mei."
Mei: "Do you need a ride? You and Hana can join us to get there faster."
She glanced at Hana and Emi, who were staring at each other. Hana clutched Akira's hand tightly and shook her head, indicating she didn't want to get in the car.
Akira: "Sorry, Mei, maybe another time."
Mei: "What a pity."
The car door opened, and Emi stepped out, taking Akira's other hand.
Hana felt jealous of Emi.
Hana: "What are you doing? Get away from me!"
Emi spoke in a calm tone.
Emi: "I'm already away from you. I just want to get close to Big Brother Akira."
Emi and Hana continued to argue.
Mei: "Hmph, I apologize, Akira. It's always like this."
Akira: "It's no problem. I'm happy that Hana and Emi are getting closer."
Mei: "Thank you very much, Akira. Don't forget to teach Emi properly. I was right to choose a private tutor like you. As usual, I'll pick Emi up in the afternoon. See you later."
Mei drove off alone in her car, while Hana and Emi kept fighting. Akira gently stroked both their heads to calm them down.
Akira: "That's enough, you two."
Time passed. Hana and Emi entered their school. The scene shifted to Akira, who also entered his school. In the classroom, he rested his face on his desk. A friend named Ren, a boy, approached him.
Ren: "Morning, Akira. Have you played the popular game yet?"
Akira: "I don't think so. Maybe next time I'll play it."
Ren: "It's really fun, though."
Akira and Ren continued talking about the game. Before long, two female friends, Natsumi and Ayumi, arrived.
Natsumi: "Good morning, Akira."
Ayumi: "Morning, Akira."
They spoke simultaneously, and after that, Natsumi and Ayumi looked at each other with hostility.
Natsumi: "Since when did you arrive?"
Ayumi: "I arrived long before you showed your ugly face in this classroom."
Natsumi was offended by Ayumi's words.
Natsumi: "Hah!!"
Natsumi and Ayumi started fighting with a verbal spat, while Akira simply returned their greeting.
Akira: "Good morning to both of you, too."
Akira's words went unheard by both of them. Akira thought to himself:
Akira:(They're both so similar to Hana and Emi, always fighting when they meet.)
The bell rang. The teacher entered the classroom. Students sat in their respective seats and began the lesson. Time passed. In the afternoon, the subject changed to Physical Education.
P.E. Teacher: "Everyone form groups of two. We'll start with stretching."
Quickly, Ayumi and Natsumi grabbed Akira's hands. Akira felt confused and just stood still.
Akira: "Eh..."
Natsumi: "What are you doing, Ayumi?"
Ayumi: "I should be the one saying that!"
Neither of them wanted to back down. Ayumi and Natsumi spoke to Akira simultaneously.
Ayumi & Natsumi: "Akira, who do you choose?"
Akira: "Hold on a moment."
The P.E. teacher, seeing the commotion, reprimanded them.
P.E. Teacher: "You three, quickly form a group, or you'll run longer than the others!"
Ayumi and Natsumi calmed down. Ren approached Akira.
Ren: "How about partnering with me?"
Akira: "Sure."
Akira and Ren stretched together, while Ayumi and Natsumi stared at each other.
Natsumi: "It looks like we're the only two without a partner."
Ayumi: "No way am I pairing with you."
Natsumi: "Who would want to pair with you either?"
The P.E. teacher walked up to Natsumi and Ayumi and hit their heads with a ruler. Finally, Natsumi and Ayumi stretched together.
Time passed. After school, Akira arrived home.
Akira: "Hana, I'm home."
The one who came out from the living room was Emi, who immediately approached him.
Emi: "Welcome home, Big Brother Akira."
Akira: "Where's Hana?"
Emi took both of Akira's hands and led him to the living room.
Emi: "Don't worry about her. It's better if you hurry and help me, Big Brother. I have new homework from school."
Akira: "Alright."
In the living room, Emi had already laid out her book on the table, along with a bottle of orange juice. Emi pulled Akira, making him sit on the provided cushion, while Emi sat on Akira's lap.
Akira: "Eh, why are you sitting on my lap, Emi?"
Emi: "It's more comfortable than sitting normally. Is it not allowed?"
Emi showed her cute face to Akira. Akira couldn't refuse Emi's request.
Akira: "Of course, it's allowed."
Akira helped Emi with her homework. Not long after, the sound of a door opening was heard. It turned out to be Hana, who had just returned home. Hana felt envious when she saw Emi.
Hana: "How dare you take the house key from me?"
Emi: "I didn't take it. I just found this key."
Hana became angry and tried to push Emi, but Emi managed to withstand Hana's push and pushed back. They both shoved each other.
Akira: "Calm down, both of you."
Hana successfully pushed Emi, causing her to fall, and Akira fell too. Akira's leg hit the underside of the table, making the orange juice on the table spill all over the three of them.
Hana and Emi apologized to Akira for causing the mess. Akira told them both to take a shower while Akira cleaned up the mess in the living room.
Time passed. Hana and Emi finished showering. Now it was Akira's turn to shower. The scene shifted to Hana and Emi, who were in Hana's room.
Hana gave Emi some clothes.
Hana: "Be grateful to me because I'm kind enough to lend you clothes."
Hana left the room to change elsewhere, while Emi, alone in the room, noticed a beautiful dress belonging to Hana.
When Hana returned to the room, she saw Emi wearing her cosplay dress.
Hana: "Why are you wearing my clothes without permission?"
Emi: "Isn't it a shame for this dress not to be worn?"
Hana and Emi heard the bathroom door open. Akira had finished showering. Emi immediately stepped quickly out of the room.
Hana: "Big Brother Akira finished showering! I'm going to show him—"
Emi: "Hey, that's mine!"
The scene shifted to Akira in front of the bathroom door. Soon, Emi arrived, striking an elegant pose, lifting the dress slightly as a greeting.
Emi: "Big Brother Akira, how do I look? Am I pretty?"
Akira: "You look beautiful, Emi."
Emi was happy with Akira's compliment and took his hand.
Emi: "Then let's go, Big Brother. We'll play pretend. I'll be the princess, and Big Brother Akira will be the prince."
Hana finally came down from her room, also showing off another cosplay dress she had.
Hana: "I should be the princess!"
The three of them started playing pretend. Time passed, and it was late afternoon. Mei came to Akira's house to pick up Emi.
Mei: "Where did this beautiful dress come from, Emi?"
Emi: "Big Brother Akira lent me this outfit for playing pretend."
Hana was still angry because her clothes were worn without permission, while Akira was just puzzled and remained silent.
Mei: "Thank you, Akira, for being Emi's private tutor and playing with her."
Akira: "No problem."
Mei: "Next time, I'll join your role-play too, as the queen!"
Mei took out money and gave it to Akira.
Mei: "This month's payment. See you tomorrow, Akira."
Emi: "Thank you, Big Brother Akira. I had fun playing today."
Mei and Emi left Akira's house in the car.
Akira: "I'm going shopping now, Hana. Take good care of the house."
Hana: "Okay..."
Akira went shopping at the market. When he finished and was about to head back, it suddenly started raining. Akira took shelter at a bus stop, sitting on a bench.
Akira didn't realize there was a girl next to him. The girl touched Akira's sleeve. Akira looked sideways at the girl.
Girl: "Big Brother."
Akira felt confused why she called him "Big Brother."
Akira: "Eh... Big Brother?"
