Chapter 137 - Preparing for the Festival [A Stroll Through the City of Giemburg]

In the Kathali family sub-mansion, which is located 15 minutes from Vrselkin Academy,

A loud alarm went off, signaling that it was six-thirty in the morning and it was time to wake up.

Lucy woke up excited and energetic, still hugging her teddy bear, her hair messy.

She spoke with her eyes closed, with a clumsy smile still stuck on her face:

"It's another day of preparation for the festival."

She got up excitedly and started preparing herself well for the day, as she decided to enjoy the days leading up to and during the festival.

I went straight to the breakfast table, which was prepared with a variety of delicious dishes.

The butler placed the food on Lucy's plate with a grace befitting her position, then stood next to her with a slight smile on her face.

Lucy began to eat her food in a noble, aristocratic manner, while looking at the giant table with cold eyes. It was full of delicious food, but empty of its owners.

Loneliness was something that family wealth could not cure; The fact that her family did not come together even for the simplest things, such as eating, was sad for Lucy.

The butler gently stroked her hair, while speaking in a warm voice that made Lucy's smile stand out:

"It's all right, Madam Lucy. "I know it's sad, but there will come a day when you will be with your husband and children, eating together and living a fairly peaceful and tolerable life."

Lucy continued to eat, while a slight smile appeared on her face at the butler's words; She did not wish for a perfect life, knowing that it was impossible, but there is nothing wrong with a beautiful life.

She excitedly got up from her seat after finishing her meal, then headed out of the Kathali family mansion, heading towards Versalkin Academy.

Where you will meet Beatrice, Gia, and Brevica, and they will tour the city of Gusembourg, which was witnessing preparations to celebrate the thousand years since the defeat of the demon world, on its second day.

I rode in a carriage belonging to the Kathali family. It was beautiful and elegant on the inside, and gave a glimpse into the family's skill and magical abilities, thanks to the complex formations of runes spread inside and outside the carriage.

She spoke in a calm tone, while looking at the driver through a small window:

"Head towards Versalkin Academy."

"Yes, Madam Lucy Kathali."

His tone of voice was full of respect, as he pulled the reins on the two horses and they set off at great speed.

Inside the carriage, Lucy was looking at the decorated city of Gusembourg. Although it was not completed yet, it was enough to make the cityscape look wonderful and beautiful.

"It will be very interesting to walk around Gusemburg during these days. What a wonderful set-up!"

Lucy spoke excitedly as she watched the neighborhoods.

The carriage stopped, announcing the end of the trip, then I heard the driver's voice confirming this:

"Madam Lucy Kathali, we have arrived at Versalkin Academy."

Lucy got out of the car without saying anything, and the driver immediately left the place, leaving her at the gate of Verselkin Academy.

She let out a sigh of relief, as she looked towards the academy gate, waiting for her companions to arrive.

Several minutes passed before Beatrice, Gia, and Brevica arrived, finding Lucy waiting impatiently for them, slightly annoyed at their tardiness, even though she had told them in advance what time they were to meet.

However, I decided to ignore it; The day is still just beginning, and you don't want to ruin it over simple things, like not keeping your appointments.

"How are you, Lucy? "Looks like you came early."

Beatrice said while looking at her watch.

Which made Lucy surprised, wondering how she came so early, then she spoke incomprehensibly while taking out her phone:

"We agreed to meet at seven-thirty. How can you say I came early when I've been here for a long time?

Brevica looked at her in surprise while checking her phone again, then spoke:

"It's seven-thirty in the morning, as we agreed. "It seems you were excited and didn't check the time correctly."

Lucy turned on her phone to check this, only to discover that they had arrived on time, and that she had been the one early.

I felt a little embarrassed while looking at them.

"Looks like I actually came early, ha-ha-ha-ha!"

Lucy spoke embarrassedly, as she put her phone back into space.

Then she turned her gaze towards the city of Gemsburg, trying to change the subject:

"Since we've gathered, it's time to have a good time! "It's the second day of preparing for the festival, and it's going to be a lot of fun!"

Beatrice and Brevica both sighed, looking at her disappointedly; Her attempt to change the subject was extremely embarrassing and unsuccessful.

They decided to keep up with her, and set out around the city of Gusmbourg, specifically towards the restaurant they used to visit, Ain Sultan Restaurant, or Dar Sultan Restaurant, as it was called two different names.

"So, what are we going to do? Have you planned where we will go?

Jia spoke while drinking her chocolate shake.

Both Beatrice and Brevica remained silent, as they had nothing planned; They were counting on Lucy, who was excited about the tours they would take in Gusmburg.

Lucy spoke softly as she delicately ate the chocolate cake:

"Yes, I have already planned everything we will do all day."

"First, we will walk around the city a little, especially in the places where the entertainment center will be located. From what I heard from my father, there are five entertainment centers; "Three in the city of Gusembourg, and two in the Verselken Academy, for future use by students."

"After that, we will head to the Yang and Yin Garden, which contains the tree of Zao Li and Alessandra, which they planted when they completed the construction of Versalkin Academy."

"Then we will head to the circus, which is currently located in the middle of the city, and watch the workers prepare for it."

"After that, we will return to the Ain Sultan restaurant, or Dar Al Sultan, to have lunch, before we continue our tour of the city of Gusembourg again. Do you have any questions?

Everyone remained silent, looking at Lucy who was eating her chocolate cake.

"It's very delicious, isn't it?"

Lucy's tone of voice was full of happiness.

Then she turned her attention to them again:

"What will you do during the next festival? I heard it's going to be really cool and huge. "I've never met any angels, orcs, elves, or barbarians in my entire life!"

Beatrice looked at her after hearing her words.

"You certainly won't see them all your life if you stay like this. You are still fifteen years old, and on top of that, you spend your time inside the palace all year round, and only leave it to wander around the city of Durbakia or attend the parties of the nobles."

On the other hand, Brevica was looking at them with extreme boredom; She thought they would do fun things, but they did nothing but gossip.

She turned her gaze towards Jia, who had been eating without saying a word the entire time.

She seemed to be thinking about something that was still puzzling her, or perhaps she was thinking about killing them on the spot.

These were the only two possibilities she could deduce from Jia's silence and her looks at them as they spoke.

She took a deep breath, while putting the spoon away from her hand, as a sign that she no longer wanted to eat.

Which made Lucy look at her with clear sarcasm, but her look turned to surprise after she noticed that Brevica's eyes turned cold for a split second, before they returned to normal.

She turned her attention to what she was eating, and discovered that the food contained nutrients that help strengthen brain functions and protect it from disease.

However, she was unable to accurately determine its name, but what made her even more surprised was that the color of the plates, spoon, and fork was completely white, and even the color of the food itself was white, along with a cup of cold milk.

She did not understand why Brevika asked for this food and insisted on serving it in this strange way, but she decided to ignore the matter. Privika loves the color white, and is even obsessed with it, as I noticed from her clothes and the decor of her house inside the academy, which was completely white.

That's why Lucy decided to ignore it, because she didn't want to talk about it at all, and she didn't want to force Brevica into anything.

She spoke in an enthusiastic tone, trying to ease the tense atmosphere caused by Brevica's behavior, which both Beatrice and Gia had noticed:

"Since we've finished eating, it's time to walk around and enjoy ourselves, girls!"

Brevica, Beatrice, and Gia agreed. They were bored of staying inside the restaurant, as they had spent an entire hour there.

However, the shops and places they planned to go to were closed at that time, 7:30 in the morning.

They left the restaurant after paying and started walking around.

"I feel some relief. If that's true, spending eleven days without studying makes me feel very happy!

Lucy's tone held a lot of happiness as she looked around with a small smile.

Brevica responded with clear sarcasm, while putting her hand around her neck:

"Sure, a lazy person like you would wish every day was a holiday. However, if Yuuta had not been studying at Versalkin Academy, you would never have seen my face, despite securing a future wife from people like you, Lucy Kathali! Ha-ha-ha-ha!"

Signs of extreme annoyance and anger appeared on Lucy's face as she looked at Brevica.

"You're so annoying! I'll beat you up if you do this again! Hmm!"

This made Brevica's smile grow wider, as she laughed while looking at the angry Lucy, which increased the latter's anger and annoyance even more, before she decided to ignore Brevica in order to preserve her dignity in front of the eyes of the general public.

They continued on their way without saying anything; Beatrice and Gia were talkative, while Brevica and Lucie were not very understanding and would cause problems that no one wanted.

Jia turned her gaze towards some children who were playing with wooden swords, and men preparing the tools they would use to complete the festival preparations.

However, she did not understand why she felt that something was strange and wrong, as if there was a ridiculous conspiracy being hatched to hold this festival, which would last from June 4th to June 10th, that is, seven full days of enthusiastic celebrations and challenges.

She turned her gaze towards the shops, most of which were closed at that time. Everyone had decided to cooperate to decorate the city of Gusembourg, which was so large, it would be impossible to decorate it in one or two days, even if all the residents of the city and the students of Verselkin Academy came together.

However, she felt the happiness hidden in the hearts of the local people, who came to participate in the celebration from other continents, kingdoms and cities.

The festival brought all the inhabitants of the human world together; As they were going to celebrate the defeat of their common enemy, the king and world of demons, at the hands of Daniel de Moliard, with the help of his companions from other races, so that the victory would be distributed among them all, without one race being superior to another.

"Today is more active than the previous day. It seems that they have been eagerly awaiting the festival's arrival for a whole year."

"Although I feel that something is not right is happening, as if it is a hoax that everyone has believed, at the same time I feel happy and cheerful, while I wait for that day, which will be filled with some entertainment and a break from harsh exercises and training."

Jia spoke in her heart, while contemplating everything happening around her, trying to enjoy herself.

She reached out to pick up a lantern that was about to fall on her clothes, potentially getting them dirty with oil or, at worst, getting burned.

Then she returned it to the person who was installing it. However, he could not pronounce a single word; Jia's beauty made him forget that he had even dropped the lantern, and she returned it to him.

He woke up from his distraction, to find that Jia had left a while ago, which made him feel disappointed, before he spoke with great frustration:

"Such beautiful girls walking around our city! "They appear to be students at Versalkin Academy, judging by their appearance."

"I have to think carefully about my actions. Treating a group of minors as adults will put me in prison, especially if they have a high status in society."

On the other hand, Brevica was feeling a little uncomfortable as she looked around; Lucy was focused on the festival preparations, which made her discomfort unnecessary.

She turned her gaze to find five trucks lined up in front of one of the largest stores in the city of Gusembourg. She smiled slightly while pointing at him with her finger:

"We have reached the first stop of our journey, visiting the entertainment centers, which are in the preparation stages!"

Gia, Lucy, and Beatrice all turned their eyes to where Brevica was pointing her finger.

They decided to go there with apparent enthusiasm, especially Lucy and Brevica, only to meet the manager's granddaughter, Catherine, who was standing outside the store with looks of some frustration.

"Lauren, why are you still standing in front of the door?"

There was some confusion in Lucy's voice as she looked at her.

Brevica spoke with surprise after hearing Lauren's name instead of Catherine:

"Isn't her name Catherine? Why did you call her by a different name?

A slight smile appeared on Lauren's face after she heard Brevica's words, then she spoke in answer to her question:

"Catherine is my first name, and Lauren is my second name, but they call me Lauren so that there is no confusion between me and Catherine, who teaches you in the elite class."

Brevica did not think long about it; It makes sense that there would be someone with the same name, and it's natural, there are hundreds of people within Vrselkin Academy with names like Lucy, Beatrice, Brevica, and Jia, and even professors.

However, she was as surprised as the rest of them as to why she was standing in front of the door without entering; She was the granddaughter of the academy's director, Solliver, and there was no way she could be insulted like this.

A sigh full of annoyance came out of her mouth, as she looked at their faces, which were asking the same question: Why are you standing in front of the door?

"They told me that entry is forbidden, except for Leota Caseral, the director of the Vrselkin Academy, or someone of their level."

After hearing Lauren's explanation, which was full of frustration, Brevica, Lucy, and Beatrice all turned their attention to Gia, who seemed uninterested.

Gia turned her gaze towards them, realizing their intention behind those looks, which resembled the looks of a small puppy, except for Beatrice, who seemed to have something wrong with the settings of her facial expressions, as her features were as calm as usual.

Lauren joined them with the air of a puppy, even though she was two years older than Gia; This is her last year at Versalkin Academy, and there is a chance that she could become a master class teacher if the senior teachers agree to it.

Jia spoke with obvious annoyance, while turning away the faces of those close to her, then she entered the entertainment center.

But one of the guards stopped her before he looked at her facial features. However, he knew that she was a girl by her body.

"Sorry, ma'am, the facility is temporarily restricted; It is under maintenance until June 4th.

The guard's tone of voice was full of respect, as he looked up, finding a girl who looked very similar to Yuta. Considering that Jia had been closed to harsh training ever since she was adopted by Emperor Aster Guilford, the common people and most of the nobles did not quickly recognize her, or did not know that she was Aster Guilford's adopted daughter, and the guard was an example of this, even though he was young.

He spoke in a slightly nervous tone as he bowed in front of Jiya, thinking that it was Yuuta, who had come disguised as a girl; He disguised himself as different people to collect information about those working under his command.

"I'm sorry I didn't recognize you, Mr. Uta Caseral. "Your disguise was so elaborate that I could not have recognized you, had it not been for the frequency of your power and your special presence."

"Please, don't fire me from my job. "I have nowhere else to go."

Jia kept looking at him, as her doubts grew about her relationship with Utah Caseral, and about the truth of her family, as the adopted daughter of the Magic Emperor Aster Guilford.

However, she decided to ignore the matter for now, since all the secrets would be revealed during the summer vacation, at the Summer Festival that would be held in Parhais City.

"That's all right, but don't tell anyone coming in or leaving that I'm here, or you'll be fired without taking a penny with you. My words are clear?

Jia's tone of voice was firm, as she looked at him with looks that were enough to strike fear into his heart.

"Yes, Sir Uta Caseral."

The guard's tone of voice was full of fear, and he immediately left the place without saying anything else.
