Chapter 143 - Frecklesen Academy Festival [Tae-hoon and Seok's meeting]

Seok's eyes kept searching around for Suho, who had not appeared until that hour.

While Seok was looking for him, his gaze met a young man lying on a nearby tree trunk, his upper part burned as a result of an attack of a fiery nature.

Signs of shock appeared on Seok's face as he looked at that young man, and he spoke with great difficulty:

"Suho, is that you?"

"...."

He did not hear any response, and this made him even more anxious, so he headed directly towards the young man who was lying on the tree trunk without any movement.

After several minutes had passed, Seok had reached the tree trunk.

He found the young man, who was Suho, drowning in his own blood due to numerous injuries.

The flesh on his left cheek was non-existent, and his teeth were shattered, making him unwatchable. The flesh mixed with teeth was something impossible to look at.

His right hand was completely disfigured, and it was impossible to call it a hand. His body was full of wounds and fractures in various places.

Seok fell in front of the body of his childhood friend with an incomprehensible look:

"Suho, are you dead or what? Just say something!"

In the midst of this chaos of blood and explosions, Suho opened his eyes to look at Seok with looks filled with hatred, malice, and a desire for revenge. He shouted loudly while pointing with his hand towards Seok:

"You are the cause of all the misfortunes that have befallen me! You were present in them! You are the curse of my life, you wretch!"

"You're the one who did this to me!"

"How dare you? I thought you were my brother, but I became like this because of you!"

"You should have died a long time ago, so I could live a beautiful and happy life, instead of being beaten to death because of your bad luck!"

"It's you....You're the one who did this to me! It's you....You're the one who did this to me! It's you....You're the one who did this to me! It's you....You're the one who did this to me! It's you....You're the one who did this to me! It's you!"

Seok was in shock, unable to speak a single word as he listened to Suho's screams and words that kept being repeated endlessly.

Which made him hold his hair tightly, and the tears flowed abundantly without stopping, and he shouted out loud:

"I didn't do anything! Can you hear me? I didn't do anything!"

Then he woke up immediately screaming at the top of his lungs with the same words.

His condition was miserable and pathetic. Sweat was flowing profusely from his body to the point that his bed was wet, as if a bucket of water had been thrown on it, and tears were flowing abundantly from his eyes involuntarily.

His chest was rising and falling rapidly due to his rapid breathing, trying to clear his mind of the nightmare he had witnessed.

He turned his eyes towards the mirror near him, and realized that the tattoos on his chest and arms were lighting up the dark bedroom with a very dark blackish-crimson glow, and his eyes were black with crimson red pupils.

Seok remained silent without saying anything for over an hour, letting his body rest and calm down to return to its normal state instead of the fighting form he couldn't undo.

He took a deep breath while wiping his face, trying to clear his mind again, then returned his gaze to a picture that showed him, Ye Rim, his parents, and Suho.

He looked back at his hands, which were shaking violently, and put pressure on them.

He then went to the bathroom to wash off the sweat, and his facial features were cold, while his eyes remained as they were and did not return to their normal shape.

Anger was at its peak, and the desire to take revenge on what he considered to be his brother. Today would inevitably be the time to settle the debts.

He turned on the water tap, and cold water began to flow and fall on his body, which was still trembling.

He began to remember Amun's previous words to him:

"On the first day of a big event, at the hero's statue, rats will gather to mock a dead trickster."

He opened his eyes, which had returned to their normal state, while speaking in a calm tone and with a frightening smile that did not bode well:

"The first day to celebrate the victory in the war was Saturday, June 6, as the second day of its end. Therefore, what he meant by the first day was the first day they celebrated, not the day the war ended."

He dried himself and got out of the bathroom, then put on the nice clothes he had bought last night, with a smile still plastered on his face.

He picked up his phone and checked the clock, only to find it was 9:45 a.m., which was the perfect time to walk around the festival.

He left his house without eating anything, because he wanted to make his food very special. Revenge will be the only thing that satisfies his hunger.

While Seok was wandering around Vrselkin Academy and looking for Daniel's statue, he met Yuta, who was walking around with a calm expression on his face as usual.

Yuta looked at him, which made Seok somewhat surprised, yet he remained calm.

"What does he want from me? Yesterday he caused a disaster that people are still talking about. I can't believe he can get out of this crisis easily!"

Seok spoke in his heart with surprise as he looked at him.

However, he was shocked when Yuta ignored him, which made him surprised that he was so sure he was looking at him.

However, he decided to continue on his way, his mental state was somewhat unstable, so he decided to ignore the matter that was very embarrassing for him.

On the other hand, Yuta was looking at him with puzzled looks and trying to understand:

"Strange, his energy has nothing to do with Kuno or the psychic power from his previous world."

However, he decided to complete his path in turn, and at the same time he and Brevica were still looking around, which was important information to him that was unknown.

While Seok was searching for the statue, he came across both Armin and Yoruichi walking around together while eating some delicious candy.

They turned to him while looking at him with different looks, depending on their understanding of Seok's intention of wandering inside Versalkin Academy.

Then Yoriichi spoke to him seriously via telepathy:

"Are you sure, Seok, about what you are going to do? There is no turning back, understand? They are the ultimate masters, and their status is capable of putting you behind the sun."

Even after hearing Yoruichi's warning, his facial features remained calm.

He spoke in a confident tone full of determination to achieve his goal:

"Don't worry, they won't find out anything. After all, there's no animosity between me and them. Moreover, it's still too early for any attempt at revenge."

"However, in this world there are those who use curses. Do you know anything about curse slayers and curses?"

Yoruichi's facial expression changed as he looked at him, taking advantage of the absence of Armin who had turned to Gray, who was going to the entertainment center.

"I don't know anything about curse slayers. There are no curse slayers or curses per se in this world."

Yoruichi spoke, not understanding what Seok meant.

To answer his question while they wander around Versalkin Academy, looking for the statue that belonged to Yoriichi's grandfather:

"Being a Curse Slayer is never easy. There are always harsh conditions, either psychological or physical. Consider me as an example; I cannot use my abilities outside of my own dome, and if I want to use my full power or Chaos Form, I must take damage that my body deems serious, even if it is psychological.

In my previous world, curse slayers were divided into two types:

Devourers: This is a type of human that can increase their strength by devouring curses or taking advantage of their benefits and fighting with them.

The Damned: This type of human can harness curses.

As for the type I was of, which are curses, we divided them into three types:

Moral curses, which are spells inflicted on humans by dark magicians, or curses of absolute or higher entities.

Material Curses, which are creatures born from the negative emotions of creatures, and when they are gathered and left in one place, they can be tamed by the cursed and used to fight, and they are also called Curse Lords."

"You were then the King of Curses who ruled the world for two whole thousand years. However, the path you took was not entirely paved and pure, but rather filthy. Millions of people and curses died at the hands of millions of people in that time, from a mere common human to a demonic sorcerer, and a curse that created countless massacres."

Yoruichi didn't say anything, yet he was surprised by what he said. Does he want to show himself as a dangerous and terrifying person, or is there another purpose behind his words?

However, he found himself asking him about it:

"But why are you telling me all this?"

Seok stared at him for several seconds before turning his gaze around, searching for the statue. This made Yoruichi confused.

Seok spoke in a calm tone that made him confused for a while:

"I just said it, but in reality I am not proud of what I did. Rather, I see it as something that should have been done at the same time, so you know that if I resolve to do something, I will do it."

"I lost a lot in my life before. Many of my loved ones died before my eyes, but I avenged them all. But this time is different, I feel a mixture between the desire for revenge and the real desire to kill. Haaaaaa, I don't know why I'm telling you all this."

"Let us say that you have a presence that inspires confidence, as if you were a ruler who ruled with the confidence and consent of his people."

Yoruichi didn't say anything. His words sounded familiar, but when had he heard them? He couldn't remember.

They continued on their way for several minutes before they reached the statue of the hero Daniel, and there were several people, numbering six, looking at the statue with clear sarcasm, which made him remember what Amun had said earlier.

Yoruichi looked at them for several minutes, then spoke with obvious annoyance:

"Those are scum. I heard that they did a lot of disgraceful things, and there are rumors that they assaulted underage female students. Can you believe that?"

Seok didn't say anything, but looked at them for several seconds before speaking in a sharp tone as he left the place, as he had already memorized their facial features.

Then he spoke in a cold tone while looking at Yoriichi from the corner of his eyes:

"The rumors about them are true. Their actions are far from those of a normal human, and this indicates that they have minor tendencies. I have met many people of this type, and I can tell them from just one look. They usually have a tumor in an area of the brain caused by the energy that is agitated when the power of the mind is first unlocked."

Signs of shock appeared on Yoriichi's face as he looked at him, then turned into real anger and hatred, as their actions had exceeded the limits of moral values.

However, he calmed himself as he continued on his way without looking at them, so as not to make them suspicious.

However, he felt clear anger inside him. He was aware of the crimes they were committing, but there was no evidence to prove the charges against them.

Which made his desire to kill them increase, along with Seok, but he was aware that Seok would not allow him to do so, so he took out a legendary-level tool that amplifies its user's strength for two hours.

To speak calmly while giving it to him:

"You might need it, the one you used against the Goblin Lord Cavliore usually belongs to its owner, and you can't use an absolute dome for a long time, right?"

Seok didn't say anything as he looked at Yoriichi, laughing and shaking his head:

"I don't need anything to kill these scum, raping underage girls and murdering young women, to vent their anger. However, I will need it in the future."

Yoruichi didn't say anything, he was going to give it to him anyway, since he decided to practice using his Blessing Wing, and he didn't need it. Moreover, he could obtain it at any time, his family was the most powerful family in the world at the moment.

To speak in a calm tone, completely changing the subject:

"Are you going to join the final exam? As for me, I won't join, since it's useless with the cards revealed to future enemies."

A smile of admiration for Yoriichi's honesty and frankness appeared on Seok's face, and he clapped his shoulder:"I won't join. They'll cancel it anyway, there's basically no Battle Specialist students who will join."

"There have been many events that have proven their credibility, and there is no need to show ourselves, as we have already drawn attention to ourselves."

Yoruichi laughed as he looked at the students who were with him at the time:

"We've been through the same hell, yet we're still alive, and that's what's important right now."

He turned his gaze towards the person who was holding his shoulder, and his gaze turned to astonishment as he looked at Tae Hoon and his granddaughter, Tae Chung Ah.

What do they want from him? Did they know that he wanted to kill those professors, or that he killed several people when he was unconsciously in a state of chaos? However, was that self-defense then, or what?

Seok didn't know their true intention, but after seeing what they did to Yuuta earlier and trying to arrest him for killing Edward Brezek, a student from the Legends class, it made him more cautious.

However, Seok's face remained calm as he turned towards them, both him and Yoruichi looking at them with wary looks.

Seok spoke respectfully while holding his fist, making Tae Hoon and Tae Chung Ah admire his tact:

"How are you, Mr. Tae Hun and Mrs. Tae Chung Ah? What does the famous detective Tae Hun want from me?"

For Yoruichi to greet him in turn, he was ultimately someone he could not offend, even as a member of the De Moliard family:

"Mr. Tae Hun and Mrs. Tae Chung Ah, I hope you liked the festival."

Neither of them commented, so they spoke in turn in a calm tone with a great deal of respect:

"Mr. Min-seok and Mr. Yorichi, it is an honor to meet you. I have been wanting to talk to Mr. Seok for a long time. When you were on Jeju Island, I was the first to see his unparalleled talent."

Their looks were filled with astonishment, so Tae Chung Ah spoke, trying to explain the matter:

"My grandfather saw all your actions back then, and he wanted to include you in the Tai Clan even before the Scorpion Organization attacked."

Seok looked at them for several seconds, finding looks full of determination, and not a shred of lie in their words. At that time, he wanted to prove himself, which made him reveal almost all of his cards, but there were cards that were still hidden, and they were more dangerous than the ability of a single soul.

Seok bowed while speaking sadly:

"I'm sorry, Master Tae Hun. I have no intention of joining any clan, since I have a lot of things to do in the future."

"I need to be someone who does not have any responsibilities, except for my life, and being in a noble clan like the Tai Clan requires one to accept many responsibilities."

Tae Hoon did not say a word in response to Seok's clear rejection, because his looks made him realize that he would stick to his decision and would not give up on it no matter how hard he tried.

However, a slight smile appeared on his face, as he gently stroked Seok's hair:

"Even though you are still a child, you have the look of someone who has lived a lot."

They left the place immediately, yet Tae Chung Ah was so annoyed by their tactful rejection that she felt happy before realizing that his rejection was decisive.

However, she realized why he was worthy of her grandfather Tae Hoon's attention, as he was smart and able to get people along with him quite easily.

On the other hand, Yoruichi was looking at him with astonishment. He had heard him say that before, that he would not join any clan, but he did not think that he would refuse to join one of the great clans on the southern continent.

Then Seok delivered a blow enhanced by a reddish-black aura towards Yoriichi's head, causing him to freeze in place for several seconds.

Seok spoke in a calm tone while preventing him from falling:

"Forget what you heard before about me, and everything about him. I'm just the child of a half-cursed parent."

Yoriichi regained consciousness as he looked at Seok, holding his shoulder, while looking at him with a look of sarcasm:

"Did you fall in love with Tae Chung Ah and freeze there like this, or is it something else?"

Seok said sarcastically as he continued on his way, ignoring Yoruichi who was holding his head, which was hurting due to the technique he used on him.

Which he learned to steal from one of the curse killers in his life, and it is useful in erasing part of the memory, but he needs terrifying mastery in using psychological energy to be able to do this without corrupting the brain cells or deleting all the memories of the recipient of the technology.

Yoruichi said while massaging his temples in surprise at the pain that suddenly struck him:

"No, it's different. I think the Alpha technique that Cavlior used is still affecting me. Last time, I suffered from a headache for two weeks, and only nine days have passed since the end of the battle."

Seok sighed in relief, knowing that Yoruichi had not realized that he had erased his memory. However, at the same time, he noticed that there was a thick cloud in his mind preventing his subconscious mind from accessing those memories.

"Why don't we go to the infirmary to have your health checked? Maybe you have energy poisoning due to the effect of that technique."

There was some concern in his tone as he handed him a glass of cold water, given to him by a nearby woman who had noticed that Yoriichi was not feeling well.

Yoruichi took a deep breath before he noticed any improvement, as it was a temporary side effect that only lasted for a few minutes.

This made him desire the ability to erase memory, because headaches are milder and sometimes non-existent, and are difficult to detect, unlike his own technology.

They continue on their way again while chatting among themselves and enjoying the festival.
