"Sisi! Sisi, let's go!" Jojo resisted being pulled along by Kael without Sisi at his side. He was used to being watched over by either Uncle Marik or Sisi whenever he hunted, and their presence gave him the confidence to catch good prey.
"Coming," Sisi said, suppressing the unease in her heart as she walked toward Jojo.
Kael saw this and clicked his tongue in annoyance. It seemed this witch's presence was far too ingrained in Jojo's mind, to the point that the boy would grow uneasy if they were separated for even a second.
Kael scanned their surroundings, trying to detect the body heat of animals Jojo could hunt. Then he pointed ahead. "There's a squirrel in that tree. You can try hunting it."
Jojo blinked at the instruction, then pouted. "Daddy, I'm not a kid anymore! I don't need to hunt a squirrel!"
"But you are a kid. You're not even five yet," Kael pointed out.
"B-but I can hunt bigger prey! You can ask Sisi!" Jojo insisted.
