Chapter 96 - Chapter 96: Jojo's New Home (I)

Kael slowly climbed up the summit while carrying Jojo and Sisi in his arms. He didn't feel tired at all after accepting his curse again. In fact, he was always in peak condition no matter what happened, which was one of the reasons he had never lost a single battle, even when facing one hundred enemies alone.

Yet, the only time he ever felt exhausted was when he fell asleep.

Because every time he did, he would meet his fated mate in his dreams, and his body would writhe in agony, as if the Moon Goddess herself were punishing him for severing the bond she had preordained.

"Daddy, why is it so high?" Jojo asked. He looked down and paled when he realized how far they were from the palace below.

Jojo quickly buried his face against Sisi's shoulder, hugging her even tighter in fear.

"Don't be scared. I won't let you fall," Kael said. "My den is at the top of the summit so I can watch over the kingdom and its surroundings, in case any daring beastman tribes attempt an invasion."
