Sisi had a thin smile upon hearing that sentence from Kael.
Jojo had said something similar about her, and she preferred that rather than "caretaker." In fact, she preferred that over being called Jojo's mother.
Of course, she was very happy that Jojo saw her as his mother. But she wasn't sure how long that sentiment would linger.
She still thought that Jojo would eventually grow apart from her once he got older. Maybe he'd be embarrassed to stay too close to her, just like any teenage boy would.
Sisi was very sensitive about Jojo, and she didn't know if she could handle the heartache once her own 'son' rejected her simply because he grew up.
"Let's go back to Jojo. I'm sure he must've been sulky after being left alone for so long," Sisi said.
"R-right." Kael also didn't understand why he had become so nervous around her. But seeing her smile just now made everything feel better.
