Chapter 176 - Chapter 176: The Terrifying Azure Phosphorus Poison!

Chapter 176: The Terrifying Azure Phosphorus Poison!

"That Azure Phosphorus Serpent Spirit Master is actually control type."

From the sidelines, Yu Xiaogang narrowed his eyes the moment he saw Dugu Yan release her poison. Most Spirit Masters with the Jade Phosphorus Serpent martial so developed along an offensive path. The only famous exception he knew was Poison Douluo himself, a control type that could suffocate an entire battlefield.

"Azure Phosphorus Serpent, control type?" Yu Xiaogang's voice turned sharp. "Her surname is Dugu? What is her relationship with Poison Douluo?"

Yu Tianlin smiled. "Sister Yanzi is Poison Douluo's granddaughter. Her Jade Phosphorus Serpent Venom is extremely potent. Tang San and the others probably cannot break it."

"Let's see." Yu Xiaogang did not commit. Tang San also walked the path of poison. He should be able to struggle. Besides, Ma Hongjun was with him, and Phoenix Flame naturally restrained many snake venoms. Oscar also had antidote sausages prepared. They were not without a chance.

On the field, Tang San, Ma Hongjun, and Zhu Zhuqing closed in, pressing toward the rear.

Dugu Yan faced them with a slight smile. Her third spirit ring flared.

Her pupils, which had already returned to normal, suddenly turned a deep purple. The emerald snake scales on her body took on a faint violet sheen. She exhaled, and thick purple mist poured from her mouth.

Yet she did not spread it outward to strike.

Instead, she controlled the mist to spiral and condense around herself, wrapping a ten meter radius like a living barrier.

The venom was too fierce.

This was only a spar. Dugu Yan had no intention of truly injuring anyone with poison. She only wanted to protect Ye Lingling, keep the healing uninterrupted, and let Yu Tianheng handle the rest.

The moment that poisonous fog appeared, Tang San and his companions halted instinctively. Even so, their hands did not stop moving.

They had anticipated this. Oscar had prepared detoxification sausages earlier the moment they learned the enemy had a Jade Phosphorus Serpent Spirit Master. Tang San used Blue Silver Grass to deliver them from a distance. The three of them each swallowed one without hesitation.

"Your little Azure Phosphorus Serpent venom is nothing," Tang San said coldly, staring into the purple fog. "Watch me break it."

He reached into the Twenty Four Bridges Under the Moonlit Night and pulled out two large leather pouches.

Realgar wine.

High concentration.

Yu Tianlin's gaze deepened.

Tang San's plan was obvious. Use Ma Hongjun's flame to ignite the vaporized realgar, then burn and disperse the poison fog.

Under normal circumstances, it would work.

But this was not normal venom.

Inside the purple fog, faint red and blue glimmers flickered, subtle enough to be swallowed by the deep violet. Tang San did not notice them, or he noticed and dismissed them as a harmless variation of the same poison.

With a sharp motion, Tang San hurled the two leather pouches into the fog and shouted, "Fatty, burn them!"

The pouches collided midair and burst.

A cloud of wine mist exploded outward, spreading through the fog like smoke.

Ma Hongjun's Phoenix Fire Line arrived at the same instant and ignited everything.

Flames roared.

For a moment, the wine mist became a blazing sea, swallowing the ten meter barrier completely.

"It's done." Tang San subconsciously lifted a hand, already transitioning to the next step. "Everyone, get ready. Prioritize taking down the Nine Heart Begonia."

Zhu Zhuqing gave a quiet nod and slid around the edge of the battlefield, preparing to strike the moment an opening appeared.

"Alright!" Ma Hongjun answered excitedly, activating his second spirit skill. Purple flames wrapped his body, pushing him into a heated, aggressive state.

Then the fire faded.

The sea of flame dissipated quickly, revealing the poisonous fog again.

Unchanged.

Not thinner.

Not weakened.

It remained exactly the same size as before, as if the fire had never touched it.

"Impossible."

Even with Tang San's composure, the word escaped him.

How?

Even if her venom was incredibly potent, his method should have reduced it at least slightly. Yet it was completely unaffected.

Dugu Yan's eyes sharpened.

She had not planned to attack with poison, but Tang San's earlier contempt struck a nerve. The moment she heard him call her poison trivial, irritation flared straight into anger.

"You brat, you call my poison a trivial skill?"

Her fingers lifted.

The purple mist surged like a wave, sweeping toward Tang San.

"You dare comment on my poison?"

Tang San's expression tightened. The fog moved too suddenly, too decisively. He had no time to counter with another prepared method.

"Retreat!" he shouted, pulling back at once and dragging Ma Hongjun with him.

Zhu Zhuqing had already slipped around to the rear. The fog did not touch her, so Tang San did not waste attention there.

But even with the warning, Ma Hongjun did not escape.

First, Dugu Yan's outburst came without any delay, catching them off guard.

Second, Ma Hongjun's speed simply was not enough. He was a flying type Spirit Master, yes, but he still could not truly fly. Right now he was only faster than average on the ground, not fast enough to outrun a controlled poison wave.

Tang San used Ghost Shadow Steps and escaped the edge of the fog.

Ma Hongjun was swallowed.

Tang San's heart sank.

If it were anyone else, he could have used Blue Silver Grass to yank them out.

But Ma Hongjun was covered in phoenix flames. Blue Silver Grass would ignite the instant it touched him.

With no choice left, Tang San could only shout, "Use Phoenix Flame, cover your whole body, block the snake venom!"

Ma Hongjun clenched his teeth and forced the flames higher.

It did nothing.

The purple fog was not burned. It ignored the fire clinging to his body, passed through it, and pressed directly against his skin.

Then it seeped in through his pores.

Ma Hongjun's face twisted in pain.

Tang San's pupils narrowed.

"What kind of Jade Phosphorus Serpent Venom is this?" he muttered, the shock turning sharp. "Realgar does nothing, fire does nothing."

He could not save Ma Hongjun directly, so he switched tactics.

Diversion.

Two strands of Blue Silver Grass shot toward Dugu Yan, aiming to disrupt her focus and weaken her control over the fog, even for an instant.

What happened next froze him.

The first strand that touched the poisonous mist turned to ash immediately.

The second strand stiffened, frost racing up it in a blink, transforming it into an icicle that snapped and crashed to the ground.

And that was not all.

Along the remaining intact section of Blue Silver Grass, two opposing streams of toxin surged back toward Tang San, one scorching hot, the other piercingly cold.

They slammed into his body.

His face went pale, then flushed red in the next breath, pain and numbness colliding inside him at the same time.
