Veronica's POV
Camila and I stepped out together, our conversation turning to Joseph's education.
"Did my brother mention it? He wants a new tutor for Joseph," I said.
"Has he found anyone decent?" Camila asked.
"I've been screening candidates and found one with real potential. I set up a meeting for today—want to come along and tell me what you think?"
"Absolutely," Camila agreed, though I could tell she doubted the Nelson family could find anyone truly capable of teaching her son. After all, Daniel was still in the picture, and whatever he could accomplish, a tutor might not measure up to.
When we reached the elevator, we ran straight into Alonzo being wheeled around by his sister Arya.
Arya's eyes went wide when she spotted me.
"Veronica?"
Alonzo's whole body went rigid with fear.
