"She wouldn't let me follow her, said I should come back first."
I had no words for that. "Of course she wouldn't want you tailing her if she's meeting some guy. Next time, you better shadow her and find out who she's seeing."
"Understood, Mr. Nelson!"
"Get out," I snapped, driving my fist into the mattress. Contract marriage or not, I wasn't about to let her make a fool of me.
That woman... completely reckless, and I'd been stupid enough to try helping her.

The Casper raced toward Silver Kira Town, cutting through traffic as we headed for the outskirts. The charming old village sat just outside Aurelia City's borders - quaint, traditional, maybe an hour's drive from the city. When we finally reached our destination, my nerves were already on edge.
