Ximena's POV

The roar of the crowd still thundered in my ears as the stadium lights blazed overhead, casting everything in a golden glow. The scoreboard blazed with our victory, and my throat burned raw from screaming until my voice cracked. I pressed my hand to my chest, feeling my heart pound against my ribs like a wild thing trying to escape.

We had actually won.

Anton had commanded that field like he was born for it, throwing passes with deadly precision, and Ezekiel... God, Ezekiel had been absolutely devastating out there. That final play where he'd intercepted their pass and slammed their running back into the ground? I could still feel the electric thrill that had shot through me watching him dominate like that.

Glenda bounced beside me, her grip on my wrist tight enough to leave marks. "Ximena, we have to get down there! Anton's probably drowning in congratulations, and the whole team deserves to hear how incredible they were!"
