Phoebe's words cut through my brooding like a knife.
Lucas and Alan exploded into laughter.
Lucas even mimicked Phoebe, giving my shoulder a patronizing pat. "See that, Harold? You're still precious to the Bailey family."
Alan jumped in with a grin. "Absolutely. Don't sweat it. The moment your people cut ties with Bailey Group, the family will be crawling back on their knees."
They weren't wrong. My business deals with Bailey Group were all high-stakes gambles—massive investments with killer returns.
If things went south quickly, Bailey Group would be screwed, even if suppliers were willing to eat the breach penalties.
Give it a few days, and the Bailey family would be pounding down my door.
I shot my two friends a withering look. "Your comfort is overwhelming."
With the mood completely shot, I had zero interest in venting to Phoebe anymore.
I grabbed my phone and speed-dialed Alistair, telling him to handle Katie and Patty outside.
