Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: The Weight of a Gaze

The week following the bell test was a blur of D-rank missions—pulling weeds, painting fences, and chasing those damn cats. For the original Naruto, this was a source of constant complaining. For the new Naruto, it was a tactical observation period.

Every time they moved through the village, Naruto felt the "God's Pressure" skill hum beneath his skin. It was a passive weight, a gravitational pull that made civilians stop in their tracks and shinobi narrow their eyes. He wasn't just a boy anymore; he was a glitch in the reality of Konoha.

They were currently standing near the training grounds, waiting for Kakashi, who was—as usual—late.

Sasuke was leaning against a tree, his eyes closed, but his body was angled toward Naruto. He hadn't stopped thinking about the "belong to me" comment from the classroom. It was a poison in his blood, making him restless.

"You're doing it again," Naruto said, his voice cutting through the morning air like a blade.

Sasuke opened one eye. "Doing what?"

"Thinking about me." Naruto walked over, his boots crunching on the gravel. He didn't stop until he was deep within Sasuke's personal space.

Naruto reached out, placing a hand on the tree right next to Sasuke's head. He leaned in, trapping the Uchiha between the wood and his own body. Up close, the difference in their height was negligible, but the difference in their vibe was staggering. Naruto radiated a predatory warmth.

"I... I wasn't," Sasuke lied, his breath hitching. He looked down, his eyes landing on Naruto's collarbone, visible through the slight gap in his black vest.

"Your heart says otherwise," Naruto whispered. He used his free hand to catch Sasuke's chin, forcing the boy to look him in the eye. "It's beating so fast, Sasuke. Are you scared of me? Or is it something else?"

Sasuke felt his knees grow weak. He wanted to push Naruto away, to reclaim his Uchiha pride, but his hands stayed firmly at his sides. The golden patterns in Naruto's eyes were spinning, casting a hypnotic spell.

"I don't... I don't know," Sasuke managed to whisper, his voice cracking.

Naruto's thumb traced the bottom of Sasuke's lip, a slow, deliberate movement that made Sasuke's eyes flutter shut. "Good. Stay that way. Uncertain. Hungry."

Naruto pulled away just as Sakura arrived, panting. She stopped, looking at the two of them. The tension was so thick she could practically taste it. She felt a twinge of jealousy, but strangely, it wasn't toward Naruto—it was toward Sasuke. She wanted to be the one Naruto was pinning against a tree.

"Am I late?" Kakashi's voice rang out from the top of the fence.

Naruto turned, a casual smirk on his face.

"Just in time, Sensei. We were just... discussing teamwork."

Kakashi glanced at Sasuke, who was looking anywhere but at Naruto, his face flushed a deep crimson. Kakashi's lone eye narrowed. That didn't look like teamwork, he thought. That looked like a wolf marking its territory.

The Request for More

"We're going to the Hokage's office," Kakashi announced. "You've done enough D-ranks. It's time for something more... substantial."

In the office, the Third Hokage looked over his pipe. "I have a C-rank mission. Protecting a bridge builder named Tazuna. It involves travel to the Land of Waves."

Naruto's eyes flashed. The Land of Waves. Haku and Zabuza.

[System Notification: Major Plot Event Detected!]

Tazuna, a drunk old man, stumbled into the room. "These are the brats? Especially the short one with the stupid look on his face? He looks more like a doll than a ninja." Naruto didn't yell like the original would have. He didn't even look angry. He simply turned his gaze toward Tazuna.

[Skill Activated: God's Pressure (Focused)]

The temperature in the room seemed to drop. Tazuna's bottle slipped from his hand, shattering on the floor. The old man fell backward, his heart hammering against his ribs in sheer terror. He felt like he was standing in front of a mountain that was about to collapse on him.

"Watch your tongue, old man," Naruto said, his voice deceptively calm. "I am the only thing standing between you and a very painful death."

Even the Hokage sat up straighter. The sheer weight of Naruto's presence was enough to make the ANBU in the walls grip their swords.

"Naruto, that's enough," Kakashi said, placing a hand on Naruto's shoulder.

Naruto instantly retracted the pressure. He looked at Kakashi's hand, then up at the man's face. He leaned back into Kakashi's touch, a subtle, cat-like movement. "Anything for you, Sensei."

Kakashi pulled his hand back as if burned. The boy was dangerous. Not just physically, but emotionally. He was playing with them all.

On the Road to the Waves

As they left the village, the atmosphere was charged. Naruto walked at the front, his senses heightened. He didn't need chakra to sense enemies. The Eye of Providence allowed him to see the "ripples" in reality.

"Naruto," Sasuke muttered, walking up beside him. He had finally regained some of his composure. "That pressure... how did you do that?"

"It's not a 'how', Sasuke," Naruto replied, not looking at him. "It's a 'who'. When you realize you are the center of the world, the world starts to bow."

Sasuke scowled. "Don't get cocky. You still don't have chakra."

Naruto stopped suddenly. He reached out and grabbed Sasuke's arm, pulling him into a dense thicket of trees just off the path.

"Hey! What are you—"

Naruto slammed Sasuke against a trunk, his hand covering Sasuke's mouth. "Quiet," he breathed.

He wasn't attacking. He was listening. Through the Eye of Providence, he saw two puddles on the dry road behind them. The Demon Brothers.

But he didn't care about them yet. He cared about the way Sasuke was looking at him—wide-eyed, terrified, and undeniably attracted. Naruto's body was pressed firmly against Sasuke's. He could feel every muscle in the Uchiha's body.

"Listen to my heartbeat, Sasuke," Naruto whispered, leaning down so his lips brushed against Sasuke's ear.

Sasuke's eyes went wide. He couldn't hear anything but the blood rushing in his own ears.

"It's steady," Naruto continued. "Because I know exactly what's going to happen. Do you trust me?"

Sasuke felt a surge of something—not just rivalry, but a deep, aching need to be close to this boy. He nodded slowly, his lips brushing against Naruto's palm.

[System: Affection (Sasuke) increased to 35/100.]

[SP Reward: 500.]

Naruto let go, a ghost of a smirk on his face. "Good. Now watch."

Naruto stepped back onto the road just as two chains whipped out from the "puddles," shredding the "Kakashi" that was standing there.

"One down!" one of the brothers yelled.

Sakura screamed. Sasuke jumped into action, pinning the chains to a tree with a shuriken. But before they could reach Tazuna, Naruto was already there.

He didn't use a jutsu. He didn't even use a weapon.

He simply caught the metal claws of the Demon Brothers with his bare hands.

[Eye of Providence: Stage 1 — Structural Weakness Identified.]

Crunch.

With a single squeeze, Naruto shattered the reinforced steel gauntlets like they were made of glass. The two Chunin stared in horror at their broken hands.

"You're in the way," Naruto said.

He delivered a roundhouse kick that sent both brothers flying into the distance, their bodies breaking through several trees before they stopped moving.

Silence fell over the road.

Kakashi reappeared from the trees, looking at the destruction. He looked at the shattered metal on the ground and then at Naruto's uninjured hands.

"No chakra," Kakashi whispered. "Just... raw force."

Naruto turned to the group, his golden eyes glowing with a faint, ethereal light. He looked at Kakashi, his gaze sweeping down the man's body with a slow, appreciative intensity.

"Are we done playing around, Sensei? Or are you going to keep testing me?"

Kakashi felt a bead of sweat roll down his neck. "No more tests, Naruto. We move on."

The Night in the Forest

That night, they set up camp. Kakashi was on watch, and Sasuke and Sakura were asleep—or pretending to be.

Naruto sat by the fire, the flickering flames casting long shadows across his face. He felt a presence behind him.

"You should be sleeping, Naruto," Kakashi said, stepping into the light.

"I don't need much sleep," Naruto replied. "The Eye keeps me awake."

Kakashi sat down across from him. "Tell me the truth. Where did this power come from? The Hokage thinks it's a mutation of the Uzumaki bloodline. I think it's something else."

Naruto looked at him, the fire reflecting in his golden pupils. "Does it matter where it came from? It's mine. And I'm using it to protect what belongs to me."

"And what belongs to you?" Kakashi asked.

Naruto stood up, walking around the fire until he was standing over Kakashi. He reached down, his fingers catching the edge of Kakashi's mask. He didn't pull it down, but the intent was there.

"You're on that list, Kakashi," Naruto said, his voice dropping to a low, seductive hum. "You, Sasuke, this team... the village. I'm going to own it all."

Kakashi didn't move. He should have reprimanded the boy. He should have put him in his place. But the "God's Pressure" was leaking out of Naruto—not as a threat, but as an invitation. It was a magnetic, intoxicating aura that made Kakashi's heart race with a forbidden excitement.

"You're a student, Naruto," Kakashi said, though his voice lacked conviction.

"I'm a king in a boy's body," Naruto countered. He leaned in, his face inches from the mask. "And eventually, you'll stop fighting it. You'll want to belong to me."

Naruto walked back to his bedroll, leaving Kakashi sitting in the dark, his hand trembling as he reached up to touch the spot where Naruto's fingers had been.

Soon, Naruto thought as he closed his eyes. Zabuza will arrive. And then, I'll have my first real pawn.
