The mention of the word "hungry" made Aries' stomach, which had been dormant for so long, suddenly grumble. He looked up just in time to see Lucien raise his hands. Lucien clapped once, then twice, and then three times in a row. Almost immediately, the sound of approaching footsteps could be heard outside the room.
Aries remained confused as this happened. Moments later, the door opened, revealing several ladies dressed in flowing gowns of the same material and color, each carrying trays in their hands.
On one tray lay meat glistening with oil, another held vegetables, then what appeared to be rice, and finally a jug of water. Aries looked from the trays to Lucien, uncertainty clear on his face, as he wasn't sure what all of this was meant for.
Lucien met his gaze and gestured lightly toward the maids. "So, I brought food for you."
