"Look! Meteors!"
Mikaela noticed several streaks of fire tearing across the sky, drawing closer and closer. Their trajectory seemed to be aimed straight at the suburbs of New York.
Mikaela suddenly thought of something and quickly closed her eyes to make a wish.
Luke looked up, but the altitude of tens of thousands of meters made it impossible to see clearly.
If I ever get the chance to obtain the All-Seeing Eye, putting everything else aside, its long-range vision alone is truly terrifying.
It wasn't that the Reality Editor lacked eye-type templates or abilities.
Such as the Rinnegan, Sharingan, Tenseigan, the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception, Mystic Eyes of Petrification, Mystic Eyes of Distortion, and so on.
In terms of raw functionality and power enhancement, those eyes far surpassed the All-Seeing Eye.
However, this artifact possessed an advantage that no other eye could match.
Heimdall could use it to monitor the Nine Realms and even the entire Milky Way galaxy!
As long as something existed within the observable universe, Heimdall could precisely locate it and share that information with others.
Combined with the Bifrost's hyperspace teleportation and stellar beam strike, it was enough to carry out pinpoint attacks anywhere within the Nine Realms and the Milky Way.
As long as Odin wished it, Asgard could descend upon any planet, execute decapitation strikes, and remain virtually impossible to defend against.
It had far greater deterrent power than Earth's nuclear weapons.
Otherwise, how could Asgard become a paradise in the eyes of countless civilized races in the films?
In terms of long-range vision, it wasn't that there were no alternatives comparable to the All-Seeing Eye.
For example, Silver Superman's super vision.
But for now, the easiest thing to obtain was still the All-Seeing Eye.
"That's the light from the landing pod. The great leader Optimus Prime has arrived!"
Bumblebee's voice was filled with excitement. What Autobot didn't idolize Optimus Prime?
"Optimus Prime?"
Mikaela didn't understand. Was he really that impressive? In her eyes, Luke was the most formidable one.
Luke looked at the meteor streaking across the sky and said meaningfully, "With such a conspicuous entrance, things are bound to get restless soon."
Bumblebee didn't quite understand, but he continued driving in silence.
When a seasoned driver was on the road, there was no need to question his skill.
...
Meanwhile, on the other side,
At Trident Tower.
Woop~ Woop~~!
The shrill alarm blared once more.
Nick Fury, who had been working overtime until now, forced his bloodshot, exhausted eyes open.
Agent Hill knocked and entered.
"Tell me—who is Luke beating up this time?"
Nick Fury sounded oddly optimistic, even cracking a joke. "A vampire? A werewolf? Or maybe some clueless evil spirit?"
Hill shook her head, placed a file on the desk, and said, "None of those."
"Oh? Then that's actually good news."
"Don't tell me some alien race decided to visit Earth?"
Under Hill's unreadable gaze, Nick Fury flipped through the file.
When he reached the section about a meteor falling, the corner of his mouth twitched.
"What the FUCK!? Aliens actually showed up?!"
Marvel's technology was fundamentally different from the human technology seen in Transformers.
Especially S.H.I.E.L.D., which had accumulated a vast amount of black technology.
They already possessed numerous technologies and scientists left behind by HYDRA, supplemented by Cold War–era developments and later-acquired alien tech.
It wasn't difficult for them to detect the landing pods used by Optimus Prime and his group when they descended to Earth.
At that moment, the phone rang.
Hill picked it up, listened briefly, then silently hung up and walked over to adjust the computer settings.
Nick Fury had a bad feeling.
"Don't tell me this has something to do with Luke again?"
"Director, congratulations. You guessed right.. again," Hill said.
She opened a transmitted file. "Just ten minutes ago, an explosion occurred on Eighth Street in Manhattan, New York. Surveillance footage shows a police car being struck and exploding while in the middle of transforming into a robot."
"And twenty minutes ago, multiple witnesses reported seeing a shadowy giant several meters tall appear on the street where Luke was located."
Nick Fury immediately connected it to another incident. "The Qatar base attack?"
Just one day earlier, the Special Operations Command Center at the U.S. base in Qatar had been attacked by an unknown force.
Aside from one squad of soldiers who managed to escape, everyone else had gone missing.
Shortly afterward, the U.S. military network was invaded by an unknown entity.
They had only managed to intercept a single network signal.
Because of this attack, military bases around the world were placed on Level Four alert, ready for combat at any moment.
The President also ordered an aircraft carrier strike group to the Persian Gulf and strictly instructed S.H.I.E.L.D. to assist the Department of Defense's Seventh Sector in tracking down the culprit.
After that, survivors from the Qatar base resurfaced—but they were quickly attacked by a robot several meters tall.
It possessed an invisible shield and firepower, and missiles wildly disproportionate to its physical size.
In the end, the military dispatched Raider fighter jets, which successfully destroyed the attacker.
The moment Nick Fury saw the Autobots, he immediately connected the dots between the two incidents.
The realization that the entity behind the Qatar military base attack might already be on U.S. soil made his unease spike.
Nick Fury felt his scalp prickle.
Great. Aliens are invading again.
"Call everyone back for an emergency meeting!"
"And also… summon Stark and Dr. Banner."
Just as Nick Fury finished speaking, another phone call came in.
"Hello, this is S.H.I.E.L.D.…"
"This is the Pentagon Military Command Center, Nick Fury. The Secretary of Defense requests that you come over immediately—and be sure to bring your elite agents."
Nick Fury frowned deeply, already preparing to refuse.
S.H.I.E.L.D. reported directly to the President and the United Nations. A mere Secretary of Defense shouldn't have that much authority.
"This is an order from the President. Effective immediately, S.H.I.E.L.D. is to unconditionally and fully cooperate with the Department of Defense's operation until the mission is completely concluded."
Fine. There was no way out of it now.
Before leaving, Nick Fury cast one last hard look at the blurry figure on the video feed.
Even though he couldn't see clearly, he was certain that figure was Luke.
"Haah, Luke.. Can't you just settle down for once? I hope this ends quickly…"
By the time Nick Fury and his team arrived at the Pentagon Military Command Center,
he found that a large group of elites had already gathered.
Present were the current Secretary of Defense John Koehler, United Nations Security Council Secretary Alexander Pierce, military hardliner General Ross, renowned entrepreneur and technical consultant Tony Stark, Justin Hammer, Norman Osborn, Dr. Isaacs of the Umbrella Corporation, and Professor Serizawa, head of the Monarch Organization, among others.
It was truly a gathering of elites, all assembled for a major event.
On the large screen, a massive robot nearly ten meters tall, encased in ice, was displayed.
Nick Fury recognized it instantly—084, the extraterrestrial intelligent robot.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I am John Koehler. And clearly, you're all wondering why you've been brought here."
The Secretary of Defense stood at the head of the conference table, meeting the gazes of everyone present—some curious, some confused, some grim.
He pointed at the screen with a grave expression. "The reason is this: Aliens have arrived on Earth. War is coming."
Among the crowd, Tony Stark's eyes lit up with intense excitement.
Dr. Isaacs, on the other hand, looked disdainful, as if intelligent life itself were nothing more than trash in his eyes.
Professor Serizawa appeared distracted, clearly uninterested in such "small fry."
General Ross wore a solemn expression, his eyes filled with battle-ready fervor.
As for Alexander Pierce, a faint smile played on his lips.
He idly twirled an exquisite fountain pen, and when no one was paying attention, the tip of the pen emitted a faint glimmer of light.
The very next moment, a piercing alarm blared throughout the Pentagon.
John Koehler's expression changed drastically as he immediately contacted the head of security.
"This is bad, Mr. Koehler! Someone is invading the Pentagon's military network… Damn it, they breached our firewall in just ten seconds!"
"They've also deployed some kind of spider-type virus. We still don't understand its function, but it's capable of damaging the entire system."
"And every time we try to attack and eliminate it, it accelerates its mutation. It doesn't look like a virus at all—it's more like… it has become part of the system itself?"
The shrill alarm echoed relentlessly through everyone's ears.
In an instant, a heavy sense of urgency filled the room.
It felt as though danger would strike at any second.
Tony Stark immediately contacted JARVIS, attempting to counter the intrusion.
However, once JARVIS entered the system, he discovered that the hacker responsible wasn't human at all, but an intelligent life-form—just like himself.
Even JARVIS was unable to effectively suppress the virus.
The Pentagon was thrown into complete chaos.
