Chapter 19 - Furina Watches Her Subordinates Discuss How to Build a Trap to Catch Her

TL Note: Yeah so it was kinda annoying having to translate two parts and then put them into two different chapters like the original. So, I will just translate it like before, but just put both parts in to one chapter from now on.

"Ha... hahaha... hahahahahaha!"

Furina burst out laughing. "So you've been paying that attention to me all along? Neuvillette, I didn't know you were that kind of person."

[Arataki Itto: Neuvillette's about to steam himself into a vapor dragon, hahahahaha!!]

[Kuki Shinobu: Boss… that's the Hydro Sovereign. Same tier as the Archons…]

[Arataki Itto: I withdraw my statement immediately.]

[Ningguang: The Hydro Archon is really shrouded in mystery.]

[Furina: Hahaha, as ordinary people, all you need to do is believe in your god!]

In the video:

Furina spoke smoothly and confidently:

"Since you know I've been secretly investigating things, you should understand this: doubting me, suspecting me—none of that matters. What you need to do is obey. All you need is to trust your god. Trust me, and everything will be fine."

"That's all I have to say."

"Well then, the opera performance is about to begin. I'll be off."

Neuvillette could only sigh helplessly.

Furina quickly slipped out of the Palais Mermonia—so quickly that even Paimon and Lumine standing at the door didn't notice her leave.

[Neuvillette: From this angle… Lady Furina seems deeply troubled.]

[Yelan: Based on my years of investigation work… Lady Furina seems to be deliberately hiding something.]

[Furina: How can you describe a god's actions as 'deliberately hiding'? Everyone has secrets, don't they?]

[The Knave: But your secrecy will lead to Fontaine's destruction.]

[Furina: No. I love Fontaine dearly.]

[Ganyu: I believe everyone in Fontaine would never wish to see their nation sink. You should work together.]

[The Knave: The young lady is correct. I'm too eager to grasp a method to save Fontaine.]

[Ganyu: Well, I may look young, but I've been working in Liyue for over a thousand years…]

In the video, Lumine and Paimon had already met with Nuevillette.

Neuvillette pondered aloud:

"She is extremely flustered. I don't know the exact reason, but whatever it is, we cannot let the situation continue like this."

"But I don't understand—why does she refuse to speak with me? Everyone has clearly noticed that Lady Furina is hiding a secret. The problem is her attitude. Unless there is absolutely no escape, she will not reveal anything."

"I think… we may need to create a situation where she must speak. For example—an audience trial."

Paimon shrugged. "But Furina runs away the moment anything happens! How are we supposed to put her on trial?"

[Arataki Itto: Liyue has an old saying—'Those who know the times are wise!' Hahahaha!]

[Lyney: Maybe we can lure Lady Furina with cake. According to our investigation, sweets are her greatest weakness.]

[Navia: Cake? Not going to lie, I'm very good at making desserts.]

[Furina: Hold on! I am a god! Using cake to lure a god?! Do I have no dignity? I declare you both guilty!]

[Neuvillette: They haven't executed anything yet, so there is no crime.]

[Furina (stomping): Neuvillette! You've betrayed me!!]

...

Around a table sat Lumine, Neuvillette, Navia, Lyney, Lynette, and Clorinde, all discussing how to construct a trap capable of catching Furina.

Lyney: "I personally like the basket-style trap. Small animals see the bait and naturally walk right in."

Freminet: "I prefer a more stable method—something like making an extremely enticing bait."

Navia: "I would probably use mechanical animals. When I was young, my father bought me mechanical squirrels and mice to attract their real counterparts."

Neuvillette: "I hope the trap works, but also that it doesn't harm the… target too much. Preferably something soft."

Clorinde: "For prey that must be killed instantly, I choose strong execution tools. For prey that must be secured safely, I also choose the strongest option. Since the Hydro Archon is powerful, we must build a powerful trap."

[Furina: CLORINDE!! You're my subordinate! How could you suggest something so vicious—to use against me?]

[Clorinde: Even if I don't know why I'm present in that scene… a strong trap is simply the respect I show to Your Grace.]

[Furina: I don't need that kind of respect, thank you!!]

[Arataki Itto: HAHAHA! The Hydro Archon watching all of Fontaine unite to build a trap to catch her—this is hilarious!]

[Furina: Clorinde, I order you to travel to Inazuma and beat that man who laughed at me.]

[Clorinde: Understood. I will depart immediately.]

[Arataki Itto: …]

[Kuki Shinobu: Our boss tends to speak recklessly… Please forgive him, Lady Furina.]

[Paimon: That's what you get for laughing at her! Instant karmic justice!]

In the video, Neuvillette concluded the meeting:

"To put a god—someone of such stature—on trial requires a hundred times the courage needed for hunting."

"Though prying into a deity's secret is disrespectful… for Fontaine to avoid sinking, we must take the risk."

[Furina: Fine. Fine! I'll remember all of you. Don't let me find leverage against any of you, or I'll imprison every last one of you in Meropide!]

[Wriothesley: Hm… Neuvillette, I'm not accepting that inmate. (thinking)]

[Sigewinne: The Duke looks so handsome when he's thinking.]

[Charlotte: The events in the video are from the future… Will the future change because we're watching it now?]

[Ningguang: A valid question. Knowing future information too early may alter its outcome.]

[Ganyu: This resembles prophecy. Everyone in the video knows the prophecy and works to prevent it—so will the prophecy still occur?]

[Lumine: It will. I'm sure of it.]

[Paimon: Yeah! We'll definitely save everyone in Fontaine!]

In the footage, after Lumine and Paimon finished talking, a cup suddenly appeared on the table.

Paimon noticed first: "Did you just pour tea? I didn't see anything!"

Lumine shook her head.

Mysterious Voice: "Don't be nervous. I'm just having tea with you. I simply didn't speak earlier."

[Charlotte: What? A voice without a person?]

[Mona: I think she's a friend of my master. A true great prophet—one of those who can foresee the fate of the world.]

[Venti: They often gather in Mondstadt. They call themselves 'witches.' Every one of them is extremely powerful.]

[Charlotte: Judging from Mona's abilities, her master must be incredibly skilled.]

[Ningguang: I didn't expect such a powerful faction to exist in Teyvat.]

[Mysterious Voice: "Hahaha, I'm in the live chat too. No need to be wary of me. I'm just someone who enjoys having fun."]

Paimon gasped, "No one's there—but there's a voice!"

Mysterious Voice: "Don't you recognize my voice?"

Paimon quickly realized:

"Sumeru! We heard you in Sumeru—from the sky!"

Mysterious Voice: "As before, I sensed your confusion. Guiding the lost is a sweet indulgence I can never give up."
