When Aiden pressed the button, what Ember saw shocked her.
It was a complete security setup. There were monitors on the wall covering every inch of the house.
She looked at them one by one until her eyes fell on one in particular. It was divided into two scenes. One was her bedroom, and the other was her bathroom.
Ember's eyes flickered to Aiden. She saw the guilty look on his face.
"You've been spying on me in the bedroom?" Ember asked, her voice flat. Her face gave nothing away.
Aiden nodded sharply, lips pressed together.
Ember looked at the setup once more. She saw the living room, where Adrienne and her husband were sitting. She walked over to the plush couch in the room that faced the monitors. She didn't look at Aiden.
He stood there like a man on trial.
When she was settled in, her eyes moved to Aiden. He was already watching her, waiting for her judgment.
"Do I look like I bite? Why don't you sit down?" Ember said lightly.
