Chapter 28 - He Is My Brother

"Heather, your classmate looks decent, just too poor. Delivering packages doesn't have much of a future."

"If he's delivering packages, then just do it. What's he loitering around here for? No matter how long he looks, he still can't afford it."

"Look at him, he's even wearing a string of jade on his hand—red, no less. Totally fake, street market stuff. Hey! If you don't have money, why pretend to be like the rich people and wear jade!"

The salesgirls would occasionally glance over, lacing their looks with sarcasm.

I frowned, somewhat annoyed, but didn't lash out.

I walked up to the model display and started examining it closely.

"Hey! What are you doing? If you're delivering packages, go to the reception. What's there to look at over here?"

"Yeah, you can't afford it anyway!"

The salesgirls chattered mockingly.

"Why can't I even look?" I snapped.

"Sure! Why not! Look all you want if it makes you happy. Anyway... you can only look," one of the salesgirls said acidly.
