Chapter 20 - Are You Jealous That Mine Is Bigger Than Yours?

"Who are you calling a waiter, bastard? Also, smoking is prohibited in this restaurant."

Sanji, with the cigarette in his mouth, walked over with a dark expression.

Alan looked at the cigar in his hand, then glanced at the cigarette in Sanji's hand, blinked, and asked: "Are you jealous that mine is bigger than yours?"

"Who cares about that, bastard!!"

As if understanding something, Sanji rolled his eyes and shouted angrily at him, ears red with fury.

Alan made a puzzled expression: "Why is your face red?"

"Mind your own business!"

Sanji couldn't help but curse and pat the table to urge him: "Hurry up and order what you want to eat!"

Alan: "..."

"Alright then."

Alan silently turned back to the menu.

After flipping through several pages, he closed it and handed it to Sanji while saying, "Give me one of everything."

Sanji: "..."

Sanji closed his eyes, a vein bulging on his forehead, while his fists trembled.

He had never seen such a hardcore way of ordering food.

But he restrained himself and said lightly: "I cannot take your order."

"Why? Are you afraid I can't pay?"

Alan asked.

Sanji shook his head, annoyed, shouting: "I'm afraid you'll waste it because you can't finish eating!"

"I see..."

Alan nodded as if understanding, then grinned, showing his clean teeth: "Then you're wrong. I can finish it, but I might really not be able to pay."

"If you can't pay, then don't order so much!!"

Sanji glared fiercely, grabbed Alan's collar with both hands, pressed his forehead against Alan's, and shouted angrily: "Hey! You bastard, don't tell me you're messing with me!"

"Uh, you caught me."

"You admit it, you bastard!!"

Sanji exploded in rage and cursed loudly.

...

Soon, unable to resist Alan's strong insistence, Sanji agreed to serve one portion of all the dishes.

"You'd better be prepared. If you dare to waste food, I won't forgive you."

After leaving this harsh warning, Sanji stormed back to the kitchen to work.

Sham and Buchi didn't speak the entire time.

They had heard Alan mention his plan to recruit several chefs here, so they knew what to do and when not to act recklessly.

The kitchen staff was very efficient, and with few customers at the moment, it didn't take long before the first dishes were brought out.

Seeing this, Sham couldn't help but ask: "Why are the chefs serving the dishes? Where's the waiter from before?"

"You mean Sanji? He's not a waiter. Sanji is our ace-chef."

The chef smiled and explained, "Because fights often break out, the waiters gradually all ran off. Now, all service is handled by the chefs."

"Do fights like this happen often? Also, it looks like you're not afraid of pirates at all."

Buchi scratched his head, confused.

The chef laughed and continued, "Many of us used to be fierce pirates like you. For various reasons, the boss took us in."

"So even if you're a pirate, as long as you come to eat at the restaurant, we serve you. Of course, when there are many customers, friction is inevitable."

"Over time, we got used to fights. Some customers even come specifically to watch the chefs and pirates fight."

After explaining with a smile, the chef returned to the kitchen.

As he left, three more chefs arrived with dishes they had prepared and served with extremely high efficiency.

But someone's eating speed was equally extraordinary.

The three chefs had just placed the dishes on the table when Alan finished the appetizer in one bite and grabbed another plate.

After a few bites, he grabbed another plate, looked at the Nyaban Brothers, and asked in puzzlement: "Why aren't you eating? Is the food not to your taste?"

Sham: "..."

Buchi: "..."

We're afraid you'll starve to death.

In the next round, the three chefs simultaneously brought out nearly ten dishes.

Sham and Buchi were a little touched when they saw this. They could finally get a bite to eat.

The three had just tasted a few bites when Alan stopped the chef, who had just walked away.

"Wait a second, who made these two dishes?"

The three chefs turned around and saw Alan's completely expressionless face.

"Th-this... It was made by Sanji and head chef Zeff."

"Well... Is there a problem?"

The three chefs shrank their necks a little, stammering.

They weren't afraid of normal pirates, but a pirate who could slam Captain Smoker to the ground and beat him up? That was a different story.

Seeing Alan's expression, they were a bit flustered.

Fortunately, nothing unexpected happened.

"No problem. Please help me tell them that this pan-seared steak and this egg custard are perfectly made."

After he finished speaking, Alan just continued eating on his own.

The three chefs let out a long sigh of relief, wiped the cold sweat off their foreheads, and smiled awkwardly: "As long as you're satisfied. I'll pass your message to them."

Back in the kitchen, the three chefs truthfully repeated Alan's praise.

Sanji and Zeff smiled faintly.

"Heh, at least he has got some taste."

"As far as pirates go, that really is rare."

Sanji and Zeff were undoubtedly the best chefs here.

But the others weren't bad either. The fact that Alan could precisely pick out the dishes made by those two meant his palate was indeed sharp.

"Speaking of which, I know the Nyaban Brothers, but what's that guy's background anyway?"

One of the chefs casually asked.

Another chef quickly chimed in with a grin: "Hehe, my dish is almost ready. I'll go up later and ask."

"Idiot, I'd advise you not to look for trouble."

"Yeah, if you get beaten up, we will have to go rescue you."

"Quit worrying. That guy doesn't look hard to talk to."

For people who were once pirates themselves but now faced boiling pots every day… chatting, arguing, even sometimes dealing with pirates was a bit of fun.

And thanks to the chefs constantly taking turns bringing dishes out, Alan and the others gradually started interacting indirectly with the kitchen.

During this time, Alan would occasionally nitpick, too.

Most of the time, he could accurately point out what was poorly done in a dish, and of course, some chefs couldn't accept it.

Some even rushed out, red-faced, arguing with Alan.

Alan didn't hold back, yelling back at them at full volume.
