Chapter 38 - The Spirit Of Pirates!

During the day, they raided the warship and got high-quality supplies, and by night, they destroyed the Krieg Pirates to gain massive treasure.

Today was a day blessed by the goddess of luck.

Alan sincerely thanked Fullbody; his journey had just started, yet he received such a tremendous gift.

"You two, find someone experienced to estimate this treasure. As for the cash..."

Alan instructed the Nyaban Brothers: "Put the public fund and my share in the captain's room, then distribute the rest of the money."

"Yes, boss!"

Excited, the Nyaban Brothers jumped down eagerly.

Alan then turned his attention to another area.

In a corner of the deck, nearly a hundred pirates sat on the floor, hands tied behind their backs, ropes connecting one to another, forming a chain.

Their faces were gaunt, eyes tired, and heads lowered, a stark contrast to the cheering pirates while counting their wealth on the other side.

These people were also spoils of war. Though Krieg's 5,000-person fleet had been decimated to just this few, it was perfect.

Too many people on the ship would be unmanageable.

Moreover, those who survived on the flagship were the elite of Krieg's crew, experts in various fields, elite pirates by East Blue standards.

Soon, the kitchen door downstairs opened.

Sanji came out, followed by a wave of salivating aromas that filled the deck.

The starving pirates' eyes reddened as they smelled the food and looked into the ship's interior.

Some lost their senses and rushed forward madly, only to trip on their ropes and fall flat on the floor.

Alan waved his hand at Gin: "Take them inside to eat."

"Understood."

Following Alan's command, Gin nodded and jumped down from the balcony.

Soon, he led the bound former subordinates into the dining hall.

"Commander Gin..."

"Is all of this really for us to eat?"

Looking at the long tables laden with food, the pirates' eyes widened, and their throats went dry.

"This is all prepared for you. Also, don't call me commander anymore."

Gin said expressionlessly as he began untying the pirates one by one.

Hearing this, the pirates were excited to eat but felt a hidden melancholy in their eyes.

They knew about Krieg and that Gin had stayed to serve Alan so Krieg could leave. They couldn't help but feel pity for his situation.

At that moment, a pirate raised his head and clenched his fist: "Commander Gin, as long as you give the order, we'll still follow you! We only lost before because we were starving. Now with this food..."

Bang!

Before he could finish, Gin punched him in the face, sending him flying two meters across the deck.

The surrounding pirates' faces changed, and they stared at Gin in disbelief.

Gin's face was dark, his gaze sweeping across everyone as he said coldly: "Do you really think you can rebel? Anyone who dares speak like that again will have only two options: die at the captain's hand or at mine."

Seeing Gin's stance, the pirates bowed their heads and stayed silent.

They knew Gin usually treated them well and could guess he acted this way to protect them.

If the enemy was strong enough to force even Gin to surrender, their chances as prisoners would be even slimmer.

Though unwilling, they could only clench their fists and swallow their humiliation.

"Eat well. Don't starve; that's more important than anything."

Gin said coldly, then turned and left the dining hall, closing the door behind him.

After he left, the pirates could no longer endure their hunger; they rushed to grab food and stuff it into their mouths.

Outside, the Nyaban Brothers quickly distributed the cash. Every officer and crew member received their share.

As before, the 200 million belly was divided into four parts: one for public funds, one for Alan.

Of the officers' share, top officers like Sanji and the Nyaban Brothers received 60%, while team leader-level officers split 40%.

The remaining share was divided among the 60 ordinary crew members, giving each just over 800,000 belly.

Everyone gained a large fortune from this battle, more than several previous operations combined, possibly surpassing the total haul of the last six months.

Everyone was ecstatic, and they danced to celebrate.

With their pockets full, they could hardly wait to indulge and let their bodies, hardened by years at sea, experience some softness.

"I'm hitting at least ten girls when we land!"

"Hahaha! You're crazy, idiot!"

"Casino! Boss, next time we rest, can we find a place with a casino?"

A pirate on the side shouted.

Alan bit his cigar and grinned: "Of course. In a couple of days, we'll find a bustling town and have some fun with the brothers!"

"Woo!!"

"Long live the boss!!"

The deck erupted in fervent cheers.

Outside, the pirates were celebrating; inside the dining hall, the pirates were celebrating.

It seemed no matter who boarded this ship, even if it meant death, Alan would let them die smiling.

Dreams, money, food, fame, everything would be theirs!

Both material and spiritual, freedom and pleasure in life were the only purposes they fought so hard for.

This was the spirit of pirates!

The next day, the weather was clear.

It wasn't until nearly noon that the pirate ship set sail again, slowly pushing through the waves away from the shore.

Alan walked out of the captain's room on the second floor and stood on the balcony.

On the deck, over 160 pirates were lined up in six rows.

He planned to start assigning squads to the crew from today.

The nearly one hundred pirates who had formerly been under Krieg were all subdued under Gin's management.

Although not completely disciplined, they had basically accepted their affiliation with the Ghost Lion Pirates.

Alan also had Gin select some experts from among them, including navigators, ship doctors, helmsmen, chefs, and so on.

After integrating them with the other crew members and organizing them, the remaining combat personnel were grouped into another squad.

Finally, six squads were formed, as seen below.

"First is the first squad, composed of an 18-member chef team and 18 combat members, totaling 36 people. Besides fighting, they are responsible for all daily work related to the ship's kitchen and dining."

Alan pointed to the leftmost row below and waved his hand behind him: "From today on, you will be led by first squad captain, Sanji."
