Chapter 3 - 3. AT HOME

Erven woke up early as usual. His body moved through the daily routine—coffee, shower, get dressed, tie his shoes—the same steps repeated every day.

But lately, the rhythm had felt strange. There was something pressing on his chest, an uneasy feeling that wouldn't go away.

It was as if the air itself carried a subtle warning… whispering that something was coming.

Something he couldn't see… or couldn't avoid.

Night had fallen.

Erven returned home as usual.

But the house greeted him with an eerie silence.

No warm light from the window.

No sound from the refrigerator.

No sound from his father's TV.

Just darkness.

Erven: "Dad? Why… didn't you turn on the lights?"

He pushed the door a little wider, stepped inside—and his foot stepped on shards of broken glass.

Erven: "Argh! who broke this?!"

Panic crept up his skin.

With trembling hands, he reached for the phone and turned on the light. The small light swept through the living room—and the scene that emerged took his breath away.

Drawers were dug out.

Papers were scattered, torn.

The sofa was overturned.

As if a violent storm had hit the house.

This was no ordinary robbery

This was an invasion.

Deliberate.

And personal.

At that moment, the sound he feared most was heard

footsteps.

Slowly.

Coming down from the upper floor.

A foreign voice: "Boss, Juan isn't even upstairs."

A cynical laugh was heard.

Lucas: "Tch. How dare that bastard, huh? Hahaha…"

Erven's instincts screamed at him to hide. He rushed behind the cabinet, his heart beating fast.

But his instincts were wrong

his rearview mirror reflected his small, shivering body.

A hand—hard, strong, full of power—grabbed his body and pulled him out.

Erven: "Ah!!"

His body was thrown to the floor, pain stabbing his side.

Lucas: "Who are you? Where is Juan?"

Erven's lips opened… but no sound came out.

He shivered, silent.

Lucas: "Huh?! I asked carefully!"

The man's hand grabbed his hair and pulled it up.

The pain spread to his scalp.

Tears filled his eyes, but he held it back.

Erven: "Ah ah! It hurts… Sorry! I don't know anything! I just got back from work…"

Lucas moved closer, his aura filling the room.

Every breath of his hot breath touching Erven's neck caused a sensation that Erven himself hated to admit.

His heart beat fast—not entirely out of fear.

Lucas: "Are you his partner?"

Erven: "No… I… I'm Juan's son."

Lucas's eyes narrowed, sharp as blades.

Lucas: "Really? Or are you lying? Do you know that your father owes you money… and dares to kill one of my men? If he doesn't want to pay, fine. But this? This is his choice?"

Erven swallowed, trying to stabilize his voice.

Erven: "I… I don't know what's wrong, father… please… let me go, sir…"

Lucas's gaze lingered on his face for a long time, studying, assessing before his lips lifted slightly, almost like a sarcastic smile.

There was something… dangerous in the way he looked at Erven.

Something that made Erven's heartbeat even more irregular.

Lucas: "If I can't get Juan… you take his place."

His tone was cold, but the way he approached, the touch of his finger on Erven's cheek, the distance between their bodies too close, triggered a confusion:

between fear and another vibration that Erven himself couldn't understand.

Lucas looked down, his face only inches from Erven. His sharp breath brushed the skin of Erven's neck and the man's kiss made his body jerk with a feeling he himself did not ask for.

In that moment, the world felt narrow.

Vision blurred.

His body reacted without his being able to control it.

With calculated movements, Lucas bound Erven's wrists and legs.

Every touch of the man was dominant, precise, and commanding.

Erven's heartbeat echoed in his own ears, between panic and the all-too-sharp awareness of the man's presence.

Lucas: "Oi. Lift him. We'll use him to pull Juan out."

Bodyguard: "Okay, boss."

Erven's body was lifted easily, as if it had no weight at all, and Lucas held him tightly as they carried him out.

And as the night swallowed them, the car door closed tightly

Erven realized, his body shivered.

His life had changed.

It would never be the same again.

Lucas, with that dark and intoxicating presence, was now bound to his fate.

A dangerous thread that binds fear… power… and a pull he can't resist.
