Morning came too quickly. Aria woke with her stomach in knots, nerves and anticipation mixing together in a way that made breakfast almost impossible. Cassidy noticed, of course, but didn't push. She just set out toast and honey, tea and fruit, and let Aria pick at what she could manage.
"Uncle Marcus approved the building," Cassidy said, pouring herself tea. "He and Uncle Luca were there until midnight, securing every window and reinforcing the door. There will be two guards inside with you, and two more outside. No one gets in without being searched and cleared first."
Aria nodded, pushing honey around her plate with a piece of toast. "What if no one comes? What if everyone's too scared because of the restrictions?"
