They spent the next hour planning. Aria would agree to one more meeting with Mira, using the mental connection to arrange it. The location would be a small clearing about two miles from camp, close enough for rapid response, far enough to make Mira think she had isolation.
But the clearing would be surrounded by hidden warriors. Archers in the trees, scouts on the ground, trackers positioned to cut off escape routes. Nessa and Ezra would be close enough to intervene at the first sign of danger. Marcus would lead the containment team.
And Aria would wear a tracking charm, a small stone imbued with Ezra's magic that would allow them to find her no matter what happened.
"I don't like sending her in alone," Cassidy said for the tenth time.
"She won't be alone," Nessa assured her. "She'll have more protection than Mira could possibly anticipate. But it has to look convincing, or Mira will know it's a trap."
