Chapter 167 - Crossing Borders

By the fifth day, the novelty of travel had settled into routine. A good routine, comfortable rather than boring. Wake with the first light. Break camp efficiently. Walk until midday with a brief rest stop. Lunch somewhere with water and shade. Afternoon walking until an hour before dark. Camp, eat, rest. Repeat.

Aria's body had adjusted to the constant movement. The initial soreness in her legs and shoulders had transformed into something more sustainable. A deep, pleasant tiredness at day's end that made sleep come easily. Liora practically glowed with the physical challenge, her restless energy finding perfect outlet in hours of walking and camp tasks. Even Kaelan, who had been least confident about the physical demands, moved with growing ease.

They were becoming travelers.
