Chapter 2 - CHAPTER-2

As Marlin emerged from the shower, her freshly washed hair cascaded down her back like a rich, dark waterfall. She was clad in a pair of Dan's jeans, which hung loosely from her slender waist, and a T-shirt that seemed to swallow her whole, its shoulders slipping off her delicate frame. Dan's eyes widened as he took in the sight of her, his gaze drinking in every detail of her fragile beauty. He murmured, his voice barely audible, "You are so gorgeous." Marlin's cheeks flushed a deep shade of crimson as she lowered her eyes, her lashes casting a delicate shadow on her skin.

Dan's hands seemed to move of their own accord, reaching out to take Marlin's hand in a gentle grasp. He led her to a seat, where a steaming plate of decadent chocolate bread and a glass of juice awaited her. Marlin's eyes welled up with tears of joy as she gazed at the spread before her, her heart swelling with gratitude. She had never experienced such kindness before, and the sheer luxury of it all left her breathless.

As she began to eat, her eyes wandered to a mother sitting nearby, feeding her child with tender, loving care. Dan's gaze followed hers, and he asked, his voice low and gentle, "Has anyone ever fed you with their hands?" Marlin's eyes clouded over, memories of her past flooding back. "My mom used to," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. "But she died when I was 10, and my dad passed away a few months later." Dan's expression softened, his eyes filling with compassion as he listened to her story.

Without a word, Dan reached out, grasping a piece of the chocolate bread between his fingers. He brought it to Marlin's lips, the rich aroma wafting up to tease her senses. "Open your mouth, I'll feed you," he whispered, his voice husky with emotion. Marlin's mind seemed to shut down, her body responding to Dan's gentle command. She opened her mouth, and Dan's fingers brushed against her lips as he fed her the bread.

The sensation was unlike anything Marlin had ever experienced. It was as if time itself had slowed, leaving only the two of them, suspended in a world of their own. Dan continued to feed her, his eyes locked on hers, until the bread was nothing but a memory.

As they finished, Marlin turned to Dan, her voice trembling with emotion. "Why are you doing this for me?" she asked, her eyes searching his face. "I'm so poor, I have nothing to give you in return." Dan's smile was like a ray of sunshine, illuminating the darkness. "Oh, you want to give me something?" he teased. "Then give me your smile. I think you'll look even more beautiful if you smile."

Marlin's face burned with a fierce blush, her heart racing like a wild animal. She felt like she was drowning in Dan's eyes, unable to look away. The sensation was exhilarating, yet terrifying, leaving her breathless and bewildered. Without a word, she turned and fled, leaving Dan staring after her, a look of quiet wonder on his face.

As she ran, Marlin felt her heart pounding in her chest, her emotions in turmoil. She had never felt this way before, like her very soul was awakening from a deep slumber. It was as if she had stumbled into a whole new world, one that was full of vibrant colors and intoxicating scents. And at the center of it all was Dan, his smile, his laughter, his gentle touch.

But even as her heart sang with joy, Marlin's mind whispered a harsh reality. She was poor, and Dan was rich. They came from different worlds, and their love was impossible. Yet, as she disappeared into the crowded streets, Marlin couldn't shake off the feeling that she would see Dan again, that their story was far from over.
