Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Settling Back into the Cave

Rowan looked at Owen lying without blinking. He walked over and sat down to warm himself. When he first met him at the tribe, Owen's condition had been miserably wretched, not just a little bit.

Owen saw his partner putting on that emotionless face again and knew he had exaggerated. However, when he went out the door, he had indeed recovered quite well; he had just been unlucky enough to fall into a ditch on the way.

Waiting for the firewood to burn down a bit and the cave to warm up slightly, Owen remade the stone bed and urged his partner to rest.

"Sleep first; we'll organize the things in the cave when we wake up tomorrow morning."

"Okay, having flown for so long, you should rest too."

Owen, as usual, spread some animal skins on the ground and lay down next to his partner's stone bed.

Rowan ignored Owen, who stubbornly insisted on sleeping on the ground like that. He didn't understand why Owen was determined not to come up and sleep together.
