Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Damned Plan, Are You Even Human?

His thoughts were still hazy and confused. When Luffy saw Nami in the maid outfit, he was instead stunned, even forgetting to respond to what she said.

Nami stood in the warm-toned light of the room. The exquisite black and white maid outfit was completely different from her usual brisk shorts and t-shirt attire. The snow-white apron strings were tied into a full bow at her slender waist, accentuating her amazing waist-to-hip curve.

The crisp skirt fell loosely, barely covering the area above her knees, which, on the contrary, better highlighted the shape of her legs encased in the tights. Her bare feet, tightly covered by the black fabric, appeared even more slender and carried a certain tension. The long socks are connected to the stockings, leading up inside the skirt.

The cuffs and collar were adorned with lace trimmings.

Her usually vibrant orange short hair also seemed to become softer because of this outfit, lying close and framing her cheeks.

It was a mix of reluctance and subtle invitation.

Her brows were furrowed, her mouth turned down at the corners, and her eyes looked at him as if he were trash. After all, anyone wanting to see a maid outfit this late was either a pervert or a lecher.

"So this is a maid outfit?" Luffy frowned.

"Sorry it doesn't meet your satisfaction!" Nami rushed in front of Luffy and pulled on his cheeks.

No, that's not what I meant.

The effect of this outfit was peculiar. Clearly, there was more fabric, covering her more thoroughly, yet it made him feel it was even more noteworthy than when she was wrapped in a towel earlier.

Just as Luffy was about to speak, Nami, unable to contain her anger, hitched her skirt up a little. This subtle action made Luffy's gaze involuntarily stick to it again.

The black stockings reflected the light with a soft luster, extending from her calves up into the shadows beneath the skirt.

"Got you!" Nami had caught Luffy's weak point, a smile returning to her face. "What are you looking at?"

"I..."

Just as Luffy was about to speak, a knock came at the door.

"Nami, about that maid outfit earlier..." The door knocked once and then opened. Nojiko walked in, holding a piece of fabric, only to see the scene before her.

Nami in a maid outfit, hiking up her skirt...

"Sorry, my timing is probably bad. You two continue."

Nojiko hurriedly closed the door.

"No, Nojiko, it's not..." Nami instantly turned to stone. Before she could even react, the door was already closed.

Silence fell.

Luffy looked up stiffly at Nami.

"...Aaaah, you come with me and explain this to Nojiko!"

Just as Luffy was about to agree, a sound rang in his ears.

[A new day begins]

[Checking today's plan...]

[It is now [Sleep] time, 24:00 – 6:00. Please execute immediately...]

Six hours of sleep?

Am I seeing this right? Six hours of sleep?!

The characters before his eyes felt unfamiliar to Luffy.

He felt unaccustomed to it all of a sudden, even becoming a bit conspiratorial. Was it planning some trick?

This thought flashed through his mind.

If you can sleep, you should sleep! Not doing so would be against all reason!

"Nami, let's talk tomorrow. Just let me sleep first..."

Luffy fell asleep in an instant.

Nami was dumbfounded. The guy who had been staring intently at her seconds ago was now dead to the world.

She had been gripping Luffy's clothes, and now his full weight pressed down on her.

"Ah, you jerk!" Nami lost her footing and was directly pinned underneath him.

They both fell to the floor together.

"Sorry, you might not have some things prepared, and I happened to borrow a bit from the doctor..." Nojiko opened the door again.

Here we go again.

"Sorry, you two continue..." Nojiko seemed torn between leaving and staying.

"Continue my foot! Come help me!"

Nami struggled. "Hurry up and move Luffy off!"

"Endure it a little. This might hurt a bit." Nojiko... warned?

Why would it hurt?

No sooner had the question formed than she saw Luffy, who had just been moved, clinging to her leg. Dreaming of who-knows-what, he opened his mouth and bit down.

...

Once Luffy was asleep, he generally wouldn't wake up.

You could say his sleep quality was superb, honed through training. Of course, you could also call it a family tradition; the skill of falling asleep in one second wasn't something just anyone could have.

No helping it. When he was little, Garp only let him sleep for three hours.

He sometimes seriously wondered if he didn't grow taller because Garp started him on high-intensity training way too young.

Although Luffy was over 170 cm, in this pirate world where the average person was three to five meters tall, he was naturally at a disadvantage.

No helping it. Size was justice.

Otherwise, why would they say the Giants were the strongest race in this world?

Luffy often dreamed, but he rarely had lucid dreams.

This time was different.

Luffy looked at the big sun in the sky. He was still on the deck of the Baratie restaurant.

Joke's on you, how could I be back at the Baratie when we just got to Cocoyasi Village? He still had a very clear impression of Nami's maid outfit. Luffy felt sure he was dreaming.

He pinched his own cheek hard.

It hurt, but he just couldn't wake up!

"Hey, it's you again, isn't it? Whatever this 'Pirate King Training Plan' is, if you don't show yourself, I'm gonna cause a scene!"

Luffy started cursing.

You promised me six hours of sleep!

As soon as the words left his mouth, the familiar characters appeared before his eyes, and the voice sounded.

[Plan in progress... Note: Detected excessive instances of lost focus yesterday. Host attempted to exploit loopholes. Time has been reallocated to today's schedule.]

[It is now Dream Training time. Time allocated: Weakness Training. Searching for target...]

[Number of attempts: Unlimited]

[Time: 24:00 – 6:00 (Dream Time: 24:00 – 23:00)]

Luffy's face turned ashen.

Damned plan, are you even human?

Who taught you math? The reason you 'let' me sleep for six hours is so you can drill me for a whole day in my dream?!

Luffy started ranting directly.

He had been so proud before. Can you dig out forty-eight hours from twenty-four?

Just go ahead and deduct time, what can you do to me?

The facts proved this thing was completely shameless!

His cursing got a bit too foul. A figure immediately appeared before him.

The terrifying aura made Luffy instinctively step back. "Hawk-Eyes?"

Was it to continue that unfinished battle from before? Hawk-Eyes had challenged him initially, but Nami had slightly disrupted his rhythm back then, so Zoro had stepped up instead.

But Luffy was also very clear about his own weakness. As a rubber man, he was immune to most physical attacks, but he was vulnerable against sharp blades.

Swordsmen were troublesome. Extremely troublesome.

Of course, that was before learning Armament Haki.

The current Luffy had the means to fight a swordsman in close combat. The offensive and defensive power granted by Armament Haki was significant.

Since things were already like this, he might as well go for it!

"You gave Zoro such a serious injury. I, as his captain, can't just stand by and do nothing."

Luffy grinned, looking at the Hawk-Eyes before him, and directly entered Gear Second.

Then.

Armament Haki enveloped him!
