Secret Vault 81 - [Research Wing] – Day 22 - 0945 Hours / 9:45 AM — The Past…

—————————————————————

The prismatic glow of the RainbowSaber faded as Jake deactivated the blade, the air still humming with the remnant of its melodic drone. Beside him, Ahsoka Tano stood with her white blades extinguished but held in a ready grip. The room was silent save for the whirring of Curie's internal processors and the distant, frantic scratching of mole rats behind the reinforced bulkheads.

"Monsieur, The single dose of the panacea is quite fragile…" Curie said, Her robotic arms gesturing toward the glowing blue vial. "It is the culmination of centuries of research. I had hoped to produce more, but the raw materials in this... 'tomb' as you call it, have been depleted."

Jake looked at the vial, His Steady & Principled mind calculating the weight of that single dose. In the main vault, ayoung Austin Engill was dying of a localized infection from a mole rat scratch—a pathogen engineered by the very scientists who had built this place.

"I don't plan on letting that be the only one, Curie…" Jake said. He looked toward the holographic projection of Neo. "Neo, Interface with the lab's chemical synthesizer. I need a full molecular scan of the compound. Use the System to blueprint & replicate."

[System Message: Neo Politan]

"Ooh, Playing God with the medicine cabinet? I love it! Initiating 'Copy-Paste' on the miracle juice. Molecular structure is... wow, it's a mess of pre-war bio-tech and mutated antibodies. Scanning... 3... 2... 1... Blueprint Acquired. Generating a synchronized replica now."

A faint shimmer of blue particles materialized in the air in front of Jake, Coalescing into a second vial that was an exact, atom-for-atom duplicate of the original.

Ahsoka watched the process, Her bright blue eyes wide with a mix of awe & skepticism. "You can simply... create life-saving medicine from nothing?"

"Not from nothing…" Jake replied, Pocketing the replica & handing the original back to Curie. "It's data converted into matter. My System bridges the gap. Now, let's go save a kid."

The return to the main vault was a blur of high-speed movement. Jake and Ahsoka burst through the hidden reactor room door, surprising Officer Edwards, and sprinted toward the clinic.

In the medical bay, The atmosphere was thick with tension. Austin lay on a cot, His skin pale & slick with cold sweat. Dr. Forsythe & Rachel were looking over him with grim expressions. Piper, Twilight, And the others stood nearby, their faces etched with concern.

"He's slipping." Rachel whispered, Her hand on Austin's forehead. "The infection is aggressive. I've never seen anything like it."

"Move aside." Jake commanded, His Charismatic voice cutting through the panic.

He didn't wait for permission. He knelt by Austin's side, His Field Medicine perk highlighting the boy's critical vitals on his HUD. He produced the synthesized vial & a sterile injector.

"Commander, what is that?" Dr. Forsythe asked, stepping forward. "You can't jus—"

"I can & I am!" Jake said firmly, Hid Unbreakable Will leaving no room for argument. He pressed the injector to Austin's arm & depressed the plunger.

For a heartbeat, nothing happened. Then, The boy's breathing hitched. The dark, Necrotic veins near the scratch on his arm began to recede, the sickly purple hue replaced by healthy, pink flesh. Austin's eyes fluttered open, his gaze landing on Jake.

"Mister...?" Austin rasped.

"You're okay, Kid…" Jake said, His Nurturing side allowing a small, relieved smile. "The 'big rats' aren't going to win today."

Piper let out a breath she'd been holding, Her blue eyes shimmering. "Talk about a deadline save, Blue. You just made the front page again."

Twilight Sparkle stepped forward, Her Observant nature noting the molecular stability of the boy's recovery. "Jake, the biological feedback is 100% positive. The cure is total. You just eliminated a two-hundred-year-old biological weapon."

Overseer's Office – Day 22 - 1000 Hours / 10:00 AM — Present Time

—————————————————————

The heavy door to the Overseer's office hissed shut. Gwen McNamara stood behind her desk, her arms crossed, her expression a mask of fury & shock. Jake stood before her, Still in his combat-worn MCDF gear, with Ahsoka Tano standing silently at his shoulder like a stoic guardian.

"You broke into a restricted, Hidden section of my vault." Gwen said, Her voice trembling with suppressed rage. "You bypassed security, Engaged in combat with bio-hazards we didn't even know existed, and discovered a secret that has been buried since the Great War. You didn't notify me. You didn't ask for permission. You acted like an invader."

Jake stood his ground, His Steady & Patient nature allowing her to vent. When she finally paused for breath, he spoke.

"Overseer, I apologize for not notifying you." Jake began, His voice calm & Affable. "I knew that if I told you about the 'secret vault' before I had proof, You would have been forced to follow protocol. Protocol would have involved meetings, risk assessments, and delays. Austin didn't have time for a meeting. He had hours to live."

He took a step closer, His dark green eyes locking onto hers. "I found a laboratory that was designed to murder your ancestors. I found a robot who had been trapped in the dark for two centuries. And I found the only thing that could save that boy's life."

Jake's expression hardened, His Principled core shining through. "I would do it again. Every single time. If the choice is between your 'notification' and a child's life, I'm picking the kid. I brought the cure, I brought the robot who made it, and I'm offering to help you clean up the mess those Vault-Tec monsters left behind."

Gwen McNamara stared at him, The silence in the room stretching until it was almost deafening. Finally, Her shoulders slumped, the anger draining out of her to be replaced by a weary realization.

"Austin is awake…" She whispered. "Rachel just paged me. He's... he's fine."

"He is…" Jake confirmed.

"Then I suppose I can't stay mad at the man who saved our future," Gwen said, sitting down heavily. "But you... you and your 'defense force' are a lot to take in, Commander Maxis. What happens now?"

[System Message: Neo Politan]

"Ooh, She's softening up! Now's the time to pitch the 'MCDF Expansion Pack' for Vault 81. Or, you know, we could go see what Felicity & the Star City girls have broken in the clinic. I bet $5 they've already tried to 'improve' the vault's mainframe."

Jake offered a slow, measured nod, His Charismatic presence filling the small office. He didn't want to conquer Vault 81; He wanted to anchor it. To him, this wasn't just a hole in the ground—it was a beacon of what humanity used to be, and what it could become again with the right support.

"What happens now is progress, Gwen." Jake said, Leaning slightly against the edge of her desk, keeping his posture relaxed to show he wasn't a threat. "Vault 81 is a miracle. You've maintained a level of civilization the rest of the Commonwealth has forgotten. But you're isolated, and as today proved, you're vulnerable to the ghosts of the past."

He tapped a command onto his wrist-mounted interface, Pulling up a projected map of the region.

"I'm proposing a Diplomatic Integration." Jake continued, His Idealistic & Principled nature guiding his words. "I want to establish a permanent MCDF Embassy here. I'll station a detachment of Epsilon-1 security personnel at your front door—not to police your people, but to ensure no Raider or Super Mutant even thinks about knocking. In exchange, I want to turn your medical wing into the MCDF Regional Research Hub."

Gwen looked at the projection, Her eyes tracing the logistics. "You want our doctors?"

"I want a partnership." Jake corrected. "Curie is a walking library of medical breakthroughs, But she needs a proper lab and peers to work with. Your doctors get access to MCDF technology—stabilized power grids, advanced chemical synthesizers, and real-time data from the surface. We provide the raw materials & the security; You provide the expertise. We don't just cure Austin; We start curing the Commonwealth."

Gwen leaned back, her fingers tented. "Advanced tech... we've been struggling with our reactor for years. Our water purifiers are held together by hope and duct tape."

"The MCDF has Combat Engineers who can overhaul your entire infrastructure in forty-eight hours." Jake stated firmly. "We'll provide filtered rations, Modern communication arrays, and a direct line to my command. You stay the Overseer. Your laws, your people. We just provide the shield and the spark."

Ahsoka Tano, Standing silently until now, spoke with a voice of Wise experience. "A bridge between two worlds is often stronger than the worlds themselves, Overseer. Jake isn't looking for a trophy. He's looking for an ally."

Gwen looked between the two of them, Then finally let out a long, weary breath. "If you can guarantee the safety of my people and keep the 'secret vault' horrors sealed away... then you have a deal, Commander. But the first time one of your soldiers oversteps, the deal is off."

Jake smiled—a genuine, Affable expression. "Fair enough. Neo, notify Two Ten-Fireteams of Engineers to come to Vault 81."

[System Message: Neo Politan]

"Ding ding! Level up for the Commonwealth! I'll get the heavy lifters ready. Also, Twilight is already geeked out over the prospect of a 'Research Hub.' I think she's currently trying to organize the Vault's library by decimal point. It's adorable and slightly terrifying."

An hour later, The atmosphere in the Vault had shifted from panic to cautious curiosity. MCDF Logistics teams were already hauling crates of high-grade medical supplies into the Research Wing.

Jake walked into the clinic to find Twilight Sparkle & Curie huddled over a terminal, Their voices rising in an excited blur of scientific jargon. Twilight's navy blue hair was slightly messy, a clear sign she was in her 'research zone.'

"The molecular stability of the synthesized cure is fascinating, Jake!" Twilight exclaimed as she saw him. "With Curie's data & my understanding of... Well, The 'Energy' involved in your System's replication, we could potentially adapt this to combat localized radiation sickness on a permanent scale!"

"Monsieur Jake!" Curie added, Her sensor bobbing. "Miss Sparkle is a most efficient assistant! Her grasp of complex variables is... almost robotic! It is wonderful!"

Nearby, Felicity Smoak was tucked into a corner with a tablet, her red glasses sliding down her nose. "Hey, Boss. Just so you know, I 'Accidentally' optimized their life support sub-routines while I was waiting for Austin's vitals to stabilize. The air quality in here just went up by 15%. Also, their firewall was basically a screen door. I fixed that too. You're welcome."

Jake stood by the medical terminal, Watching the lines of code dance across Felicity Smoak's tablet. Her fingers were a blur, and her expression was one of pure, caffeinated focus.

"Nice work on the life support, Felicity..." Jake said, His Affable tone acting as a grounding wire for her high-energy technical rambling. "Just try not to rewrite their entire social structure while you're at it. I'd like to keep the Overseer on our side for at least a week."

Felicity looked up, Pushing her red glasses up the bridge of her nose. "Oh, please. I haven't even touched the social sub-networks. Yet. But honestly, Jake, their security was so '2077.' It's like they wanted to be hacked. It's a miracle they haven't had a system-wide failure already. But don't worry, The MCDF footprint is invisible. To them, It just looks like the reactor had a very productive cup of coffee."

Jake smiled, Patting her shoulder. "Keep an eye on the Star City group. I have a feeling Laurel & Thea are going to get restless in these cramped hallways."

"Will do, Boss-man!~" Felicity chirped, Already turning back to her screen.

As Jake turned to leave the clinic, He nearly bumped into Gwen McNamara. The Overseer looked much less stressed than she had an hour ago, Though she still looked at Jake with a mixture of suspicion and awe.

"Commander Maxis! Just the man I needed!" Gwen said, Gesturing toward the residential level. "I've arranged for your immediate team to stay in the upper residential block. We've cleared out a large communal suite—it fits about ten people comfortably. It's the best we can offer on short notice."

"That will be more than enough, Gwen. Thank you!" Jake replied with his signature Humble grace.

Vault 81 - Residential Block 4 – 1200 Hours / 12:00 PM

—————————————————————

The room was typical Vault-Tec design: Heavy steel bunks, pale yellow walls, and the low, constant hum of the ventilation system. It was spacious, intended for a large family or a high-ranking official, but for the moment, Jake was the only one there. The others were still scattered—Twilight & Curie in the lab, Ahsoka outside the Vault scouting the perimeter with the Epsilon-1 guards, and Felicity buried in her data.

Jake sat on the edge of the far bunk, His head in his hands. The silence of the room was a stark contrast to the chaos of the last few hours.

Internally, He felt the first cracks in his Steady facade. He wasn't just tired; He was terrified.

It's random, he thought, his mind racing. The System... it's pulling people from the 'Fictional' archives of my old world. Ahsoka Tano. Thea Queen. Felicity Smoak. Heroes. People with souls. People who want to help.

But his Principled mind immediately pivoted to the darker possibility. He began to pace the room, His boots clicking rhythmically on the metal floor.

"What happens if the next one isn't a hero?" He whispered to the empty room. "What if another rift opens? What if it pulls someone like The Joker?"

The mere thought sent a cold shiver down his spine. He had grown up with those stories. He knew what the Clown Prince of Crime could do to a world already on the brink of collapse like the Commonwealth. A man who thrived on chaos, Released into a land where law was a suggestion & violence was the currency.

Jake's grip tightened on the edge of the metal table in the center of the room. His Unbreakable Will flared.

"If he comes here... I won't be like Batman." Jake muttered, His eyes hardening into a shade of green that looked like cold emeralds. "I know Bruce has his 'No Kill' rule. I respect it in a world with a functioning Gotham PD & a Blackgate Prison. But here?"

He looked at his HUD, The list of Summoned Soldiers & Nikkes shimmering in his vision. He was the law now. He was the shield. He thought of the Raiders he had already put down—men who took what they wanted and left nothing but ashes. Killing anyone & doing unspeakable things… To Jake, A monster was a monster.

"The Joker wouldn't last a day…" Jake vowed silently. "I won't let his 'bad day' ruin what I'm building. If the System brings a villain, I'm not 'locking them up.' I'm putting them in the dirt. I will kill anyone too evil to be saved, just like I do with the Raiders."

He took a deep breath, forcing his heart rate to slow down. He had to remain Charismatic & Protective for his team, But the weight of being the "Gatekeeper" of reality was beginning to press down on him.

[System Message: Neo Politan]

"Hey, Commander... You're doing that 'Brooding Hero' thing again. Your vitals are spiking. Are we having a mid-life crisis at twenty? Because I can suggest a very nice flavor of ice cream to fix that. Or we could just go shoot something. Shooting usually helps."

Jake let out a dry, short laugh. "I'm fine, Neo. Just... thinking about the future."

"The future is boring..." Neo's holographic avatar appeared on his wrist, Sticking her tongue out. "The present has a very confused Piper Wright outside your door who looks like she wants to 'Interview' you into an early grave. Should I tell her you're busy being a moody leader?"

Jake stood up, Smoothing out his tactical vest. "No. Let her in… I need to get out of my own head anyway."

The heavy sliding door of the communal suite hissed open, And the rhythmic clicking of heels against the deck plating announced the arrival of the Commonwealth's most persistent journalist. Piper Wright didn't wait for an invitation; She stepped into the room with her worn notepad already in hand, Her blue eyes scanning the space with the predatory sharpness of a hawk.

"Well, look at you, Blue. Tucked away in the VIP suite while the rest of us are still trying to figure out if we're in a dream or a very high-budget holotape!," Piper said, Her voice a mix of playful banter & professional edge. She leaned against a metal locker, Crossing her arms. "You've got a lot of people talking, Jake. And I'm not just talking about the folks in the Vault. My readers at Publick Occurrences are going to want to know how a guy with some old-world ideals suddenly has a private army that makes the Brotherhood of Steel look like a group of kids playing dress-up."

Jake turned, His Charismatic aura settling into a calm, practiced mask. Thanks to his Mental Fortification, The panic he'd felt moments ago about 'The Joker' was locked behind a steel door in his mind. He looked at her with a Steady gaze, His dark green eyes unreadable.

"I'm just a man trying to make sure the Commonwealth has a tomorrow, Piper." Jake replied, His voice Affable but firm. "Everything you see—the soldiers, The equipment—it's all for the defense of the people. Isn't that what the Minutemen were supposed to be?"

"The Minutemen had rusty muskets and lived in shacks, Jake. They didn't have tanks that could flatten a skyscraper or girls who bleed blue & look like they walked off a pre-war runway." Piper countered, Stepping closer into his personal space. She gestured toward the door, Where Ahsoka had recently been. "And then there's 'Snips.' That woman... I've seen some weird things out there, from Mirelurk Queens to telepathic ghouls, but she's different. She moves like she doesn't belong to this gravity. And Felicity? That girl just hacked a Vault-Tec mainframe in five minutes using a piece of glass that glows. Where did they come from, Jake? Really?"

Jake felt the pressure. Piper was good—she was trained to sniff out the gap between the story & the truth. He leaned back against the table, maintaining his Humble posture to disarm her. "They're specialists. Private contractors, if you will. People I've met on my travels who share the vision of the MCDF."

Piper scoffed, Her eyes narrowing. "Travels? I've tracked your movements since Diamond City, Blue. You didn't find a Jedi Master in the Glowing Sea, And you didn't pick up an MIT-level hacker in a raider camp. It's like they just... appear. Like you're calling them into existence."

She circled him, Her investigative instincts humming. "I've seen the way you look at that screen on your wrist. You're not just checking the time. You're managing something. A network? No, it's bigger than that. It's organized. It's a whole..." She paused, searching for the word, her blue eyes locking onto his. "It's a whole machine of war."

Jake felt a bead of sweat prickle at his hairline. He needed to deflect, But his own fatigue was making his tongue heavy. "It's not a machine, Piper. It's a system of logistics and response that—" "Oh shiiit…" Jake said to himself…

He stopped. The word hung in the air like a live wire.

Piper's grin was instantaneous and sharp. "A system, Huh? You said it with a capital 'S', Jake. I heard it in your voice. You didn't say 'A plan' Or 'A method.' You said The System." She stepped right up to his chest, Her notepad forgotten. "What is it? A pre-war AI? An Institute experiment you stole? How are you bringing these people here?"

Jake closed his eyes for a second, His Principled nature warring with his need for secrecy. He looked at Piper, Seeing not just a nosy reporter, but a woman who had risked her life for the truth. He knew he couldn't lie his way out of this—not with her.

"Neo, Seal the room…" Jake commanded quietly.

[System Message: Neo Politan]

"Ooh, Secrets & whispers! Room is locked tight, Boss. Comms are scrambled. Not even a fly is listening in."

The heavy door deadbolted with a heavy thud. Piper didn't flinch; If anything, She looked more excited.

"Okay, Piper. You want the truth? You want the 'Big Story'?" Jake's voice was low, His Protective instinct flaring. "I will tell you. But I need your word—not as a journalist, but as a person. If a single word of what I'm about to tell you ends up in Publick Occurrences, Or if you even whisper it to your sister Nat, the MCDF will be the least of your worries. I am trusting you with the safety of every person in this Vault and everyone I've 'summoned.' Do you understand?"

Piper's bravado wavered for a fraction of a second, Seeing the Unbreakable Will in his eyes. She nodded slowly, Her expression becoming uncharacteristically solemn. "I give you my word, Jake. Off the record. Completely. I just... I need to know who I'm really following."

Jake sighed, Glancing at his HUD. "It's called the Military System. It's not from this world, Piper. And neither are the people like Ahsoka or Felicity. I have the ability to... manifest resources. Soldiers, vehicles, even people from other 'fictions.' I didn't choose this, but I'm using it to fix this godforsaken world."

Piper stared at him, Her mouth slightly agape. For once in her life, the Great Piper Wright was speechless.

Piper stood frozen, Her notepad slipping from her fingers & fluttering to the cold metal floor. The silence in the room was absolute, broken only by the faint, rhythmic hum of the Vault's life support systems. Her mind, Usually a whirlwind of headlines & lead stories, was struggling to process the sheer impossibility of what Jake had just confessed.

"Fictions?" She finally whispered, Her voice cracking. "You're telling me Ahsoka... The girl who moves like a ghost & fights with beams of light... she's a story? And you just... pressed a button and brought her here?"

"No. Not just a press of a button… And I didn't bring the girls." Jake said, Jake didn't look away. His Unbreakable Will kept his gaze steady, though the weight of the secret felt like a physical burden on his shoulders. "To us, where I come from, they were stories. Here? They are as real as you or me, Piper. They breathe, they bleed blue blood if they're Nikkes, or red if they're human."

Piper paced the small residential room, Her hands tangling in her hair. "This changes everything, Blue. It's not just about rebuilding the Minutemen. You're... you're playing with… Something… If people find out—if the Institute finds out—they won't just want your tech. They'll want your soul!"

"That's why you can't tell anyone." Jake said, His voice dropping to a low, Protective register. "Not even Nat. The Commonwealth isn't ready for this truth. They need a hero, not a god. They need the MCDF to be a shield, not a miracle."

Piper stopped, Looking at him with a newfound sense of clarity. The flirtatious spark in her eyes was gone, Replaced by the somber realization of the man Jake Maxis truly was. "Your secret's safe, Jake. I might be a reporter, but I'm not a suicide case. Just... promise me one thing. If something ever truly terrifying comes... you let me know first. I'd like to have my last meal in peace."

Jake gave a grim nod. "I promise."

Vault 81 - External Entrance – Day 23 - 0800 Hours / 8:00 AM

—————————————————————

The next morning, the crisp, irradiated air of the Commonwealth was shattered by the rhythmic, heavy thrum of high-performance diesel engines. Two Ten-Fireteams of MCDF Combat Engineers—twenty soldiers in all—arrived at the exterior of the Vault 81 cave entrance.

They weren't the standard infantry; These men & women wore heavy-duty tactical rigs equipped with specialized tool kits, demolition charges, and localized scanners. Two M1126 Stryker ICVs sat idling near the rocks, Their remote weapon stations scanning the treeline for any sign of Raider movement.

The lead Engineer, A Staff Sergeant (SSgt.) with a cybernetic eye-patch, stepped forward as Jake emerged from the Vault elevator.

"Commander Maxis, SSgt. Miller reporting!" The man barked, Offering a sharp salute. "Two fireteams of Engineers ready for infrastructure overhaul. We've brought the heavy earthmovers and the chemical stabilizers as requested."

"Good to see you, Miller!" Jake replied, returning the salute with Humble precision. "The Overseer is expecting you. Prioritize the water purifiers and the reactor shielding. And Miller—treat the residents with respect. We're here as partners, not occupiers."

"Understood, sir! Fireteams, move out!" As the Engineers began offloading heavy crates of pre-war grade components, Jake turned toward his own transport.

Parked just outside the cave's rocky overhang sat his personal command center on wheels: The HEMTT Mk.3 (H)-CV. The Heavy Command Vehicle was a titan of engineering, Its eighteen-wheeled chassis was covered in black & deep green camouflage composite armor that seemed to swallow the morning light.

The rear of the vehicle housed a state-of-the-art tactical hub, bristling with satellite uplinks and signal jammers. As the hydraulic stairs hissed open, Jake gestured for his core team to board.

"Alright, everyone, pack it in," Jake called out, His voice carrying that natural Charismatic authority. "We've stabilized the Vault, but we've got a long road back to Sanctuary Hills. Let's move."

Twilight Sparkle was the first up, Still clutching a tablet filled with Curie's research notes. Behind her, Piper Wright followed, unusually quiet as she cast a lingering, contemplative look at Jake. Thea Queen & Dinah Laurel Lance moved with synchronized, athletic grace, their eyes constantly scanning the ridgeline for threats. Felicity Smoak scurried up the steps, her laptop bag clutched to her chest, while Zatanna brought up the rear, her silk cape fluttering slightly in the wasteland breeze.

Inside the HEMTT, The environment was a sharp contrast to the grit of the Commonwealth. The air was climate-controlled & filtered, Smelling faintly of ozone and clean upholstery.

"Wow, Blue!" Piper whistled, Running a hand over a leather-padded jump seat. "You really do travel in style. Does this thing have a minibar, Or just more world-ending secrets?"

Jake took the driver's seat, His hands familiar with the heavy controls. "Just the essentials, Piper. Neo, status report."

[System Message: Neo Politan]

"All systems green, Boss! The convoy is formed up. We've got two M-ATVs for point & rear guard. Destination: Concord, then home sweet home at Fort Hope. Navigation is locked. Let's roll!"

The massive engine roared to life, a deep, guttural thrum that vibrated through the floorboards. Jake shifted the HEMTT into gear, And the convoy began its trek. They bypassed the ruins of Boston, Sticking to the outskirts to avoid the densest pockets of Super Mutants.

As they rolled into the Town of Concord, the sight was vastly different from when Jake first arrived. MCDF flags—a blue field with a golden musket & gear—snapped in the wind atop the Museum of Freedom. Ground Infantry squads in full tactical gear patrolled the streets, ensuring the local settlers could farm the outskirts in peace.

"Look at this place." Dinah murmured, Looking out the armored viewport. "It actually looks... safe."

"That's the goal, Laurel," Jake replied, His Idealistic heart swelling slightly at the sight of progress.

They didn't stop for long, Just enough to trade sitreps with the local Captain. The convoy pushed north, Finally cresting the hill that overlooked the bridge to Sanctuary Hills, now officially designated as Fort Hope.

The sight was breathtaking. The old pre-war neighborhood had been transformed into a fortress. Reinforced concrete walls topped with automated sentry turrets ringed the perimeter. In the center, A massive communication array reached for the sky, and the sound of hammers & drills echoed as Combat Engineers worked on the latest barracks.

As the HEMTT crossed the bridge, The gates hissed open. Hundreds of Summoned Soldiers stood at attention, their armor gleaming.

Jake killed the engine & stood up, looking at his team—a mix of wastelanders and legends from another world. "Welcome to Fort Hope! Let's get to work."
