Chapter 1 - Awakening in Eldoria

You groan, your eyelids fluttering open to a world that shouldn't exist. The first thing that hits you is the noise—a chaotic symphony of clanging metal, shouting vendors, and the distant roar of what sounds like dragons. Wait, dragons? You sit up abruptly, your back aching against the cold stone alley wall where you've apparently been slumped. Rubble and puddles surround you, and the air smells of spiced meats, horse manure, and something oddly magical, like ozone after a storm.

This isn't your apartment. Hell, this isn't Earth. Towering spires of iridescent crystal pierce the sky, adorned with fluttering banners bearing runes that glow faintly. Elves—actual pointy-eared elves—haggle at market stalls with burly dwarves over potions and enchanted swords. A centaur trots by, carrying crates, and in the distance, a wizard levitates a cart through the crowd. This is straight out of your favorite fantasy games: Eldoria, or whatever this place is called. Panic surges through you as you pat yourself down—your body feels younger, fitter, clad in simple linen clothes that scream "peasant NPC."

"How the fuck did I get here?" you mutter, rubbing your temples. And then it floods back—the memory of your death.

It was supposed to be the night of your life. You'd finally scored a date with that hot coworker, Sarah, after months of awkward flirting at the office. Dinner went great, laughs were had, and things escalated back at your place. Clothes were coming off, her hands on your chest, lips inches from yours... and then the pain hit. A sharp, vise-like squeeze in your heart. You clutched at it, gasping, vision blurring as she screamed for help. Heart attack. At 28? You'd always joked about dying young, but not like this—not right before getting laid for the first time in years. The world faded to black, regrets swirling: all those late nights gaming instead of living, the junk food, the stress...

But now? This. Reincarnation? Isekai bullshit? You chuckle bitterly, leaning against the wall. "If this is heaven, it's got a weird sense of humor."

As if on cue, a translucent blue screen materializes in front of you, hovering like an augmented reality overlay. It chimes softly, pulling you out of your daze.

Your jaw drops. "Holy shit, it's real." This is every gamer's dream—a litRPG system in a fantasy world. You mentally poke at it, and it responds seamlessly. Appraise self, you think, and it confirms: you're you, but enhanced, de-aged to your prime, with a note about your "protagonist aura" from dying with regrets. The heart attack? A cosmic joke, apparently, but now you've got a second chance. And that Harem Bond skill... intriguing. No more dying a virgin in this life.

Emboldened, you stand, brushing off the dirt. The city—bustling with magic and mystery—beckons. Your quest points toward the slave market in the lower districts, a seedy hub where hybrids and outcasts are traded like commodities. With 50 gold burning a hole in your ethereal inventory, you weave through the crowds, dodging pickpockets and marveling at floating lanterns. The market's aura grows darker as you approach: iron cages, whips cracking, desperate eyes pleading from behind bars.

The auction is in full swing. An orcish auctioneer bellows prices for a lineup of enslaved beings. Your gaze locks on one in particular—a catgirl with auburn ears flattened in anger, her striped tail thrashing like a whip. She's bound but unbroken, her emerald eyes scanning the crowd with predatory disdain. Tattered robes cling to her curvaceous form, hinting at the power beneath: faint scars from battles on her skin, claws extended and ready.

Appraise, you command silently.

[Target: Mia, Catgirl Fighter (Level 8)]

Race: Feline Hybrid

Affinities: Combat (High), Agility (High)

Bio: Enslaved for her ferocious fighting skills in gladiatorial arenas, where her 'mana heats' make her both a deadly warrior and a coveted sex toy for victors. Skilled in claw-based melee and tail strikes. Loyalty: Neutral (Defiant). Potential Harem Bond: High Compatibility.

Weaknesses: Mana Overload during heats; Trusts no one after being used and betrayed.

She's perfect—strong, combative, and aligned with your quest. The bidding starts at 20 gold, climbing fast amid leers from the audience. You wait, heart pounding like before your death, but this time with purpose. "50 gold!" you yell when it hits 45, your Charisma making your voice boom with unexpected confidence.

"Sold!" the auctioneer grunts, accepting your pouch. Mia is shoved toward you, her collar humming with suppressive magic. She sizes you up, tail flicking warily. "Another fool thinking he owns me?"

Your System prompts: [Harem Bond] available. Offer contract? You do, projecting a fair deal—freedom for loyalty and aid. Her eyes widen at the holographic terms. "You're... not like the others. No greed in your scent." She accepts, the collar shattering in sparks.

[Quest Complete: Liberate Your First Ally!] Energy floods you—levels surging to 6, power humming in your veins. Mia stretches, a faint purr escaping as her ears perk. "Mia. And you, stranger?"

You grin, introducing yourself. The city fades into opportunity as you walk side by side, her tail brushing your leg teasingly. Regrets from Earth? Fading fast. This world is yours to conquer.
