Chapter 1 - Chapter 0: Abandoned but not betrayed

Running through the city of Tianhai, the once majestic and advanced city was now in ruins. Buildings were left destroyed for so long, plants started to take over them. Crashed cars were everywhere, and the most notable visual was probably the blood on the roads.

The road was filled with crimson red blood, people were screaming as mutated beings were chasing after them. In year 2035, June 1, a terrible virus started taking over the world. A virus called "Type-ZΩ" was causing people to freak out, to act differently. At first it was a simple a simple fever, then rashes, then sudden hunger for meat. Until it became what it is now.

The virus infected people by parasitizing them, the worse thing was probably the fact that it infected EVERYTHING. Humans, animal, even plants.

"Ugh... Hah... Ah.." Panted a man who was still currently running, various zombies were were chasing after him, though unmutated, they were still fast as they were classified as Tier 1, "runners".

The man running was named Wreiner, he had a messy black hair with dark brown eyes, his jawline was sharp but soft at the same, he wore a grey shirt with a leather jacket on top and green cargo pants, if this were in normal days, he might have been a charismatic young man, but because of the apocalypse, he was malnourished.

Infront of Wreiner were his teammates, his team consisted of a tracker, a marksman, a tanker, and a cook. In his team, he was the cook and he was lazy, because of this, he wasn't trained for escaping, he was slow at running and he had low stamina.

As the runners caught up to him, his teammates ran faster, looking back at him with pity but they were resolute to survive, so they left him, abandoned him. Wreiner looked at his teammates with understanding, his teammates were good to him, but they weren't saints to sacrifice their own lives to save a mere cook.

So, determined to return the favor they gave him, he screamed loudly to attract the other runners towards him, giving his teammates time to escape.

As the runners teared his flesh, munching on it loudly, Wreiner looked up the sky, a tear falling down. 'I hope you guys will remember me.' He as he slowly loses his consciousnes.
