OLEANDER
I freshened up and was brushing my hair back when a glowing mark caught my attention. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, my hand lifting to touch the scar where the mark sat.
A frown formed on my face as my fingers brushed over the smooth skin. The last time Hex had asked about it, I'd told him it was from a mosquito bite. I'd thought the hickey would vanish as quickly as it came, but I was wrong.
It was strange. I had never seen a hickey glow before, much less linger this long.
"What are you staring at?"
I flinched, spinning around at the sound of his voice. The edge of the table dug into my back as I leaned against it, my eyes locking onto Dante.
He had changed out of the suit he'd been wearing. Now he was dressed in blue jeans and a white shirt, a black blazer thrown over it. My gaze dropped to the sneakers on his feet before lifting back to his face.
He looked… casual.
"Where are you taking me?" I asked, ignoring his question entirely.
