As soon as we were far enough away that Oleander couldn't hear us, I released Claudia. She immediately moved in, trying to pull me into a hug, but the glare on my face stopped her cold in her tracks.

I was seething. Boiling with rage even.

I waited for her to apologize for what she'd said, knowing it was all a lie. But she didn't.

I hadn't forgiven her, not even close. There was no universe where I'd let her anywhere near me again, much less my bed. She had made that shit up because of Oleander, and she knew it.

Claudia scoffed and folded her arms across her chest, her breasts pushed up by the ridiculous dress she wore—A sleeveless, low-cut cocktail dress that clung tightly to her curves and ended at mid-thigh. The neckline dipped low, pulling even tighter across her chest. If someone like Oleander had worn it, it would have looked perfect, elegant, without trying so hard.

"The reason you don't want me back is because of her, right?" she said.
