"Fine," I agreed before my brain could even register it.
Hex scoffed. "Fine?"
Alan ignored his outburst. "Here, or your meeting hall?"
"The meeting hall," I said. I didn't know what he had in mind, but if it was important enough for him to threaten lives over it, then it was best we spoke somewhere we wouldn't be interrupted. "And tell your men to let go of my sister."
"As you wish, Alpha." Alan gave a mock bow. Then he snapped his fingers, and they immediately released Celina.
He turned and headed toward the Alpha building, where the meeting hall was located.
"What about her?" Hex demanded, his eyes narrowing on Alan and the man dragging Tessa along behind him.
"That whore?" Alan mused, looking Tessa over like she was nothing more than dirt beneath his boots. Still, he made no move to release her. "She'll keep my men company. We've been traveling for days, and they're famished."
