Chapter 74 - Nothing going on with Claudia

"What happened?" Hex asked.

Claudia, the bitch who had called me vile names just before his arrival, stared at him with wide blue eyes. And as if something was controlling the tears inside her, they slowly streamed down her cheeks.

As if that wasn't enough, she went in for another hug, and Hex held her like it was the most natural thing in the world.

A bitter ache bloomed in my chest, one I had never felt before. A sharp rage followed, refusing to leave me.

I gulped, forcing myself to look away, but I could still hear the sound of her crying. The softness in Hex's voice as he spoke to her. The care.

I couldn't hold back the pain anymore. It threatened to choke me, and a scoff slipped past my lips.

"Is this place a theatre?" I asked, glaring at Hex when he looked back at me. "I am trying to think here, and I didn't sign up to listen to your crying."
