Chapter 66 - Chapter 66: Temptress Tiamat

'Wasn't this guy sent into the Imaginary World by Merlin? How is it that after disappearing for three days, not only did he come back lively and kicking, but he even brought along an unfamiliar woman?'

'And those huge, demon-like horns on her head… no matter how you look at them, she doesn't seem like an ordinary magus at all.'

'If Lady Morgan were to see this…'

Tristan seemed to picture some unpleasant scenes. His expression shifted slightly, but he quickly spoke up, "This isn't the place to talk. Let's go chat in the garden."

After saying that, he led the two of them along a secluded path and into the garden.

Under the warm-toned sunlight, an exquisite white jade long table was set with tea ware. On it was black tea freshly brewed by Tristan's lover, along with a plate of freshly made soft white bread and biscuits, and some fruit platters on the side.

When Tiamat entered the garden, her gaze immediately fell on the afternoon snacks in front of the white jade table.

"These were just prepared by my lover, Isolde. She hasn't touched them yet. If you don't mind, you can try some," Tristan said with a smile.

Tiamat did not move at all. She simply tilted her head instinctively and looked toward Alvin.

Although she did not say anything, there was a faint trace of anticipation in her beautiful crimson eyes.

'With you looking at me like that, how could I possibly refuse,' Alvin nodded silently.

Only after receiving Alvin's approval did Tiamat step forward to the table.

After slightly bending her knees to sit down, she picked up the black tea, then took a piece of white bread from the table and began tasting it in small bites.

Watching this scene, Tristan could not help but frown deeply.

He pulled Alvin aside, his tone low and grave, "Alvin, what exactly are you trying to do?"

"If Lady Morgan and the King find out, even I won't be able to save you."

Not only did he escape the Imaginary World completely unscathed, he even went on a date with such a beautiful woman. Now Alvin had even brought her sneaking into King Marco's manor to relax.

Tristan did not dare imagine what would happen if those two were to see this.

"This is a long story, but don't worry. I know my limits."

After saying that, seeing that Tristan was still uneasy, Alvin gently patted his shoulder and said, "Tristan, you're good in every way, except that you always like to think too far ahead. When all is said and done, you're just worrying over nothing."

Not to mention he had just returned from the Imaginary World. Even if Morgan really noticed something, there was no way she would think he was currently at King Marco's manor.

On a broader level, Tiamat had suffered a "betrayal" in the past, and now she somewhat viewed all living beings in this world as "aliens."

Taking her out for a change of scenery was also meant to help correct that mindset.

In the end, it was all for the sake of human order.

"You… sigh!"

Tristan wanted to say something, but seeing Alvin's calm smile, he finally sighed.

"Do as you see fit. If there's anything I can help with, just tell me."

"For now, no. But if I have to ask, nothing major happened in Britain while I was gone these three days, right?", Alvin asked curiously.

Tristan shook his head, "After that banquet, the upper ranks of the transmigrators have been interacting more and more with Britain, and relations between the two sides have eased quite a bit."

"Recently, some magi from the modern world have often been exchanging insights with Britain's higher-ups, and they've also been helping Britain maintain order among the transmigrators."

Seeming to recall something, Tristan continued, "On my uncle's side, a very important guest arrived today as well."

Hearing this, Alvin asked curiously, "Who?"

"The Lord of the Clock Tower's Department of Law and Politics… Barthomeloi Lorelei."

———

"Although magecraft of the modern era is not as good as that of the Age of Gods, some techniques really are worth learning."

Inside King Marco's manor, at this moment, a portly man wearing a bright red noble robe stood up and shook hands with the woman in front of him.

"I truly gained a lot today, all thanks to Miss Barthomeloi."

The joy on his face was impossible to hide, and his words were filled with heartfelt gratitude.

"I gained quite a bit as well. This can only be considered a cooperative exchange of information between us."

Barthomeloi extended her hand to shake King Marco's. On that usually cold and arrogant face of hers, a faint smile also appeared.

Alvin, she had first heard that name from Kayneth and Aozaki Touko.

But today, from King Marco's mouth, she heard another very interesting story.

The story of the white dragon.

Watchman of Camelot, Alvin Pound. He was both King Arthur's husband, and a "monster" once feared by Britain's nobles.

Moreover, there were no records at all of the Watchman's name in history.

If not for King Marco, she would never have known that the Watchman's real name was Alvin.

So here came the question, why did Kayneth's prized disciple share the exact same name as Britain's Watchman?

Was it a coincidence?

Or…

'If it isn't a coincidence, then that would be very interesting indeed.'

As if thinking of something, the queen-like Lord quickly curved her lips into an amused smile.

After a brief conversation with King Marco, she placed a heavy silver metal case on the table.

"This is a gift for our first meeting. It's said that its history can be traced back to Mesopotamia in the 27th century BCE. I hope King Marco won't mind."

King Marco froze slightly, then the smile on his face grew even broader. He gestured for a servant nearby to hand over a box that had long been prepared to Barthomeloi as well.

"Magi seem to be very interested in 'relics' from this era, so, this is just a small return gift from me."

A faint smile flickered in Barthomeloi's eyes as she accepted the box.

"Then thank you for your kindness, King Marco. I won't disturb your rest any longer."

After speaking, she stood up, picked up the box, and left the hall under the guidance of a servant.

King Marco watched Barthomeloi leave with a smile, then turned his gaze back to the box on the table.

"A holy relic, huh. I really did hear some extremely interesting news today."

Heroic Spirit summoning, no, perhaps it should be called divine spirit summoning.

This was one of the "great gifts" presented by the Lord of the Department of Law and Politics, Barthomeloi, during her visit today.

As long as a special barrier was set up, along with a "holy relic" and various special potions to replenish magical energy, the summoning ritual could be activated.

And this summoning ritual could very well summon an unknown deity.

This special magecraft had almost completely overturned King Marco's understanding.

If it really was possible to summon a being at the level of a "god"… then perhaps it could become a hidden trump card within his manor in the future.

And what's more, the other party had even prepared the "holy relic" already.

Who exactly would be summoned, one wonders?

If it really was a god, then perhaps there would no longer be a need to fear the threat posed by Alvin.

King Marco gently stroked the surface of the box. Just thinking this far made the anticipation in his heart grow even stronger.

———

King Marco clearly did not know that while he was making a deal with Barthomeloi, the "main party" was actually dating in his own backyard.

Well, not really dating. It was just accompanying Tiamat for a meal.

Alvin lazily yawned and looked at Tiamat sitting beside him.

'That appetite, that food intake, she could probably give Lily a run for her money, right?'

He could not help but sigh inwardly.

To avoid attracting too much attention, Tiamat had already changed into a white dress embroidered with pale blue patterns.

Her proud, upright chest was especially eye-catching under the sunlight.

With bread in one hand and a biscuit in the other, she first stuffed the white bread into her mouth with a "nom nom," then shoved the biscuit in as well, her cheeks puffing up like a little bun.

After struggling to swallow with a sip of black tea, she repeated the process again.

Anyone who didn't know better would think she had been abused and starved for a long time in the past.

Seeming to notice Alvin's gaze, Tiamat hesitated for a moment, then broke a biscuit in half and handed one half to Alvin.

"Thanks, but I'm not hungry," Alvin declined tactfully.

Tiamat thought about it, carefully placed the biscuit back onto the plate, then wrote and drew in her notebook.

[Human food is very delicious,] She handed it to Alvin to read.

'It's just a shame this is Ancient Britain. If this were the modern world, I could probably take her from one end of a food street to the other,' Alvin smiled, "As long as you like it. Just focus on eating, don't worry about me."

Tiamat indeed did not say anything more and buried her head in eating.

Only after completely wiping out the entire plate of afternoon snacks did she finally seem somewhat satisfied.

"If you like it, I'll take you back to the palace later to try other foods," Alvin suddenly said.

With transmigrators appearing frequently, some foods that had never existed before had also shown up in Britain recently. Alvin felt that Lily might actually have quite a lot to talk about with Tiamat.

At least when it came to food.

A hint of joy appeared in Tiamat's brows, but soon she hesitated again.

[Aren't you afraid of me?]

She could feel that when Alvin first met her, he had been quite reverent, but at some point, he now seemed able to interact with her very naturally.

"To be honest, at first I was a bit in awe, but later I wasn't afraid anymore," As Alvin finished speaking, he casually glanced at Tiamat's obscenely enormous chest.

To be fair, most living beings in this world would probably feel shock and fear the first time they saw Tiamat.

Even afterward, when facing her again, they would certainly act cautiously.

But Alvin was obviously not normal.

When all was said and done, aside from her power, there really didn't seem to be anything else to fear about this woman.

Beautiful, with a chest and long legs that crushed everything else by comparison, and most importantly, because she was a spiritual body, she could be cute or mature at will, and she even had fangs.

Even if she was a Beast, wasn't she still a stunning beauty?

After thinking through all this, Alvin had already lost his sense of reverence toward Tiamat.

Never underestimate the power of an LSP. [T/N: Pervert or constantly h0rny.]

That aside, the system notification earlier was also somewhat concerning.

If he could continue to obtain Mama Tiamat's magical energy, the White Dragon Core might undergo unexpected evolution.

So how exactly could he continue obtaining Mama Tiamat's magical energy?

Alvin looked at Tiamat, and then his attention was once again drawn to that indecent volume.

'Mama Tiamat's damn temptation, just how could she be this big?'

'Even grown-up Lily isn't this big, right?'

Alvin sighed softly and quietly withdrew his gaze.

What he did not notice was that, from earlier on, his gaze had already been completely seen by Tiamat.

A hint of confusion first flashed through her eyes, then those crimson pupils curiously lingered on the young man a few more times.

After sensing the changes within Alvin's White Dragon Core, Tiamat seemed to vaguely realize something.

She thought for a moment, raised a finger, and gently tapped the tabletop.

Thick, ominous Chaos Tide quietly gathered, centered on Tiamat.
