Synopsis
Archieana Destine Liorae—better known as Chieana—has one rule in life: stay focused, stay perfect, and stay away from trouble. But trouble comes walking straight toward her in the form of Treniu Marcus Agustin, or simply Marcus, the school’s most irritatingly confident heartthrob. After a heated clash in the hallway turns into a school-wide spectacle, the two become instant enemies. Chieana sees Marcus as a distraction she doesn’t need. Marcus sees Chieana as a challenge he can’t resist. They argue, compete, and avoid each other… until their teacher pairs them for the biggest project of the year. Forced to work together, their battles turn into banter. Their insults soften into curiosity. And every moment spent side by side blurs the line they swore never to cross. As secrets come out and walls start to crack, Chieana learns that Marcus is not the arrogant villain she painted him to be, and Marcus realizes that Chieana’s fire is exactly what draws him in. Caught between hatred and something much deeper, they must decide: Will they keep fighting their feelings, or finally admit that the person they tried so hard to push away… is the one they’re meant to hold?

Chapter 1 - Prologue

Third persons POV:

Chieana marched down the hallway with her notebook hugged against her chest. Today was supposed to be perfect—her group presentation, her grades, her plan. But everything crashed the moment she turned a corner.

Marcus was there.

He bumped her book to the floor without even looking.

"Watch where you're going," he said, not stopping.

Chieana's jaw dropped. "Excuse me? You bumped into me."

Marcus finally looked up, eyes cold but amused. "You walk like you own the place."

"And you act like it," she snapped back, grabbing her book.

Their classmates stared. Marcus smirked. "Relax, princess."

"I'm not your princess."

From that moment, the rivalry began—constant arguments, sarcastic comments, tense stares across the classroom. When their teacher announced the midterm project, Chieana already knew something bad was coming.

"Pair assignment," the teacher said. "Chieana and… Marcus."

Her heart dropped. Marcus leaned back in his chair and whispered, "This is going to be fun."

Chieana glared at him. "This is going to be hell."
