Chapter 1 - Unnamed

My name is Nemo Yuri.

People who heard that name would usually say, "Who was that again?"

To be honest, I didn't really know who I was either. Maybe that's why my life, from the very beginning, felt like the path of a lost traveler — moving forward, but never arriving anywhere.

My childhood… it wasn't like others'.

I lost it all in a single day.

My family — my mother, my father, my siblings — all of them died in a tragic accident.

And I… survived.

A leftover piece of a broken picture, an extra weight no one asked for.

My uncle took me in. He was a good man, he didn't let me end up on the streets. But that house… it never felt like my home. I lived there — nothing more.

I studied, I worked, I achieved things people called "success."

Everyone said, "Nemo, for someone your age, you've accomplished so much."

But inside… I was hollow.

The things that keep people alive — joy, passion, purpose — none of them existed in me.

Understand this: I was alive, but I wasn't living.

Love?

That was just something other people felt. A warmth I couldn't reach, no matter how close I got.

So I drank. Alcohol was the only thing that could wash away the emptiness inside me, even if only for one night. One brief, false comfort…

Then came that night — the night I completely lost myself.

I had drunk far too much.

I knew I shouldn't drive. But back then, I didn't care. Not about life, not about death, not about anything.

I pressed the pedal.

The wind roared.

The world blurred into a smear of lights.

And then — darkness.

The car hit a building. My body broke, blood poured out, but I wasn't afraid. If anything… I felt relieved.

Here's a truth I never told anyone: I never knew how to live. Maybe death suited me better.

As everything faded, a single thought crossed my mind:

If only I had… one more chance.

And then everything ended.

Or so I thought.

---

When I opened my eyes, I was lying in a cold, cave‑like place.

I felt myself breathing — smoothly, lightly. No pain, no weight.

Strange. Impossible.

I stood up and walked out of the cave.

The world outside was unfamiliar. Too unfamiliar.

"Did I… fall into another world?" — that was the first thought that came.

I approached a small stream nearby and looked into the water.

A child stared back at me — thin, weak, fragile.

And I froze.

Because that child… was me.

Not the boy I once was — but someone else's body, someone else's life.

Suddenly, memories that weren't mine flooded my mind.

This child — the original owner of this body — lived a miserable life.

Unwanted, bullied, beaten, terrified…

A boy who had never tasted happiness.

One day, running from the cruel brats who tormented him, he hid in that cave — trembling, hopeless — and died silently, all alone.

His death… and mine… must have crossed paths.

A coincidence?

Or fate's twisted little joke?

I stared at my reflection… and then I laughed.

Quietly at first, then uncontrollably:

Fine!

Fine!

This body is MINE now!

This is my chance — my new beginning!

This time, I'll LIVE! AHAHAHAHAHA!

A fire lit up inside me.

My old life was ashes.

This world, this second chance — it belonged to me now.

I will not be weak.

I will not be broken.

This world gave me a new life…

And I'll bend it to my will.

This was only the beginning.

I am the new Nemo.

New world.

New fate.

And with all my strength, I shouted into the sky:

"Wait for me, life…

I'M BACK!"
