Ren Kai stood at the edge of a void that was not a void. Nothingness itself seemed to bow.
"Where… are we?" asked Aria, still shaken from witnessing a being vanish with a single step.
"This," Ren Kai said softly, "is the space beyond presence. Beyond force, beyond tiers, beyond even inevitability."
He took a step. And with that, the fabric of conceptual reality trembled, like a mirror reflecting infinity.
No laws, no definitions, no powers… nothing could exist without acknowledging him.
A voice echoed, not from space, not from time, not from thought.
"I… am not supposed to… lose," it stammered. But before it could finish, the step was enough. It too dissolved, not by attack, not by intent, but by the mere act of existing in his presence.
Ren Kai smiled faintly, as if apologizing to reality itself.
