Chapter 2 - The Dreams

Konohagakure no Sato

Year 57

Uzumaki Naruto

The nine-year-old stood back, a paintbrush in one hand and an impossibly oversized bucket of paint in the other. He gazed at his newly finished magnum opus, admiring the masterpiece he had just brought to life

Looking at The Great Hokage Rock , Naruto Shouts

" yosshaa this will show everyone who is gonna become The Greatest Hokage hahahaha"

Across the street, the villagers looked up at the tarnished Hokage Rock. It was a sight they had grown to expect , the iconic monument had once again been turned into a canvas for a prankster's whim.

" Again , Why does this fox-demon keeps disrespecting All the Hokages "

" Shhhhh let's go on our way , what if the demon hears it "

" If it was in my hands , I would have already thrown that thing out of the village"

" I say when will that demon be put down for good "

"Mommy look " " shhh don't look at that demon , let's go my son"

" That Monster never learns does he "

" why doesn't he just die "

Hearing the faint mutters and cold disregard of the villagers, the nine-year-old's shoulders slouched for a brief moment. However, his spine soon snapped straight as he turned to face the crowd, meeting their glares with a defiant declaration

" I am Uzumaki Naruto! Remember that name, because I'm going to become the greatest Hokage in histo---"

just as Naruto was declaring his dream , an annoying voice scolded over

" Narutooooo ...!!! get over here"

Looking up at the approaching figure of Iruka-sensei, Naruto's eyes finally flickered with a hint of fear. Yet, beneath the act, no one noticed the faint glimmer of happiness—the silent relief of finally being seen.

"ughhhh Iruka-sensei"

And with that, the future Greatest Hokage bolted, disappearing down the alleyway in a sudden burst of speed

" Narutooo it's finally Holidays , can't You just quit it alreadyyy , you stop right there , I'm gonna teach you a lesson "

It was mid-May, marking the end of Naruto's third year at the Academy. Though the holidays had only begun a week prior, Uzumaki Naruto was already restless; he had spent his time plotting what would become the grandest prank Konoha had ever witnessed

==============================

Scene break :

The long afternoon of pursuit and lectures finally came to an end. His voice hoarse from scolding, Iruka led Naruto home, ensuring the boy safely reached his apartment doo

"Now, go inside and reflect on what you've done. Naruto, pullling stupid pranks and disrespecting the Hokage Rock isn't going to make you Hokage "

"Just you wait Iruka sensei I am gonna -

Naruto opened his mouth to declare his dream, only to be abruptly silenced by the sharp, scolding tone of Iruka's voice

"Be realistic, Naruto. If you can't master a simple E-rank technique, you'll never make it past the graduation exam....... You want to be Hokage? Then start with your books "

"huh bu"-

" No one will accept a Hokage who can't even do a E-rank jutsu "

Naruto's eyes widened like a toad's in disbelief, but Iruka was beyond sympathy. Today had been a total loss; between chasing his student and cleaning up the mess, the date he had so painstakingly arranged was gone. For Iruka, the prank was no longer just a nuisance—it was personal

" enough I don't have time , take care of yourself "

With his final scolding delivered, Iruka departed to rescue his ruined date. In his haste, he missed the hollow look in the boy's eyes—a silent plea for acknowledgment that vanished as quickly as Naruto's unspoken words.

As Iruka's footsteps faded, Naruto stepped back into the shadows of his home. He closed the door on the village, leaving only loneliness to greet him. Sinking into his bed, a single, hushed whisper escaped his lips

" ughhhh i hope no more nightmares tonight "

saying his piece Naruto drifts asleep .

For as long as he could remember, Uzumaki Naruto had been haunted by fragments of another life—vivid, alien dreams that felt far too real to be mere figments of his imagination

But they were merely dreams—or occasionally, harrowing nightmares. Like anyone else, child or adult, the details began to dissolve the moment Naruto opened his eyes, leaving only a lingering sense of loss as the memories slipped away.

Naruto brought his midnight terrors to the GrandpaHokage, hoping for an answer, but found only dismissal.

To the old man, they were just standard nightmares—a regular occurrence for any child, and nothing worth further investigation .

But tonight was different. Not a soul in the shinobi world—not the ANBU stationed in the shadows, nor the village of Konohagakure, nor even the Nine-Tails sealed within him—sensed the shifting of the tide.

In total silence, the spirit of the child and the soul of the twenty-two-year-old finally merged, birthing a new entity entirely..

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"hmmm"

The warmth of the morning sunshine roused Naruto from his sleep. As the light hit his face, he slowly pried one eye open, staring at the window with a strange, newfound clarity

The familiar, boisterous energy of the boy was absent this morning. Naruto lay perfectly still, his gaze fixed on the wall in a hollow stare. He seemed less like a child waking up and more like a machine calibrating in the morning light.

Hidden in the shadows, the ANBU detail maintained their relentless surveillance of the apartment.

Even these seasoned operatives couldn't mask their surprise as they observed the blonde's uncharacteristic stillness—a sharp departure from his usual morning routine..

To see the energetic Uzumaki Naruto so still was unprecedented. After skipping his usual ramen the night before, his current catatonic state gave the hidden guards a new and troubling development to report.

Gazing vacantly at the wall as the morning air filled with the chirping of birds and the distant crow of a rooster, Naruto was suddenly jolted by a sharp pang of hunger.

His focus shifted, his eyes landing on the ticking alarm clock beside his bed

5:14

Naruto noted the time with a blank expression before slowly climbing out of bed. He walked to the bathroom and stood before the mirror, his gaze fixed on the glass as he began to analyze the fusion of his two lives.

Gazing at the soft features of his nine-year-old self, Naruto's expression hardened as he muttered into the silence of the bathroom

" I am Uzumaki Naruto "

His voice carried a jarring blend of bitterness and wonder, but above all, it rang with a new and unshakable certainty.

Naruto remembered the ostracization, the Hokage's lies, and the village's fear. He remembered the loud, attention-seeking child he used to be—but looking in the mirror now, that boy was gone

But his memories didn't stop there. Naruto also held the twenty-year history of another man—a life filled with the acknowledgement he had always craved and the warmth of a parents' love.

Naruto remembered childhood mischief shared with true friends, a tapestry of sweet and bitter memories from a world far removed from this one.

It was an existence worlds apart from his life at the Academy. Naruto remembered the electric hum of his first love, the weight of his first taste of pride, and a vast world of cuisine far more diverse than simple ramen.

There were memories of a complex global culture, and most strikingly, the vibrant stories of manga and anime that now served as a strange blueprint for the world he lived in

Uzumaki Naruto

The sheer absurdity of his situation weighed on him. One moment, he was a spectator of a fictional world; the next, he was breathing its air. The initial rush of happiness at being inside this fantasy reality was intoxicating—until the cold realization finally set in

He remembered the tragedy of his former life: the bitter disputes over properties and the staged 'accident' that claimed him.

Then came the endless white space—the weighing of his karma and the strange reward that followed.

He recalled the departure from his old world, his arrival in this one, and finally, the agonizing process of becoming a new entity.

" Uzumaki Naruto "

He looked at the boy in the mirror, then down at his own twig-like arms and hollow chest. A bitter realization washed over him.

whether he was the nine-year-old pariah of Konoha or the twenty-two-year-old man with no one left to turn to, the result was the same. He was still standing alone, just in a much smaller frame .

A singular awareness had emerged from the fire of two merging memories. Within him, the calculated perspective of a 21st-century man had intertwined with the raw, primal persistence of Uzumaki Naruto .

Forging an entity the shinobi world was not prepared to face

BOTH

attention-seeking and Discreet

Loud and silent

Impulsive and Calculative

Others acknowledgement and Self-reliance

Naive and Sophisticated

As these clashing opposites and striking similarities merged, Uzumaki Naruto finally began his shinobi journey. He wasn't doing it for 'their' expectations or a scripted destiny—no, he was doing it for his goals, and his alone .
