The hospital doors slid open with a sharp hiss, the sound cutting through the night like a warning. Cold, sterile air rushed to meet me as I stepped inside, and in that instant, it felt less like I was entering a building and more like a storm finally crashing onto land. Every nerve in my body was taut, charged with panic, fury, and a desperate need that refused to be ignored.
The fluorescent lights overhead were blinding, harsh against my already strained eyes. The smell of antiseptic filled my lungs, sharp and suffocating, doing nothing to calm the violent thudding of my heart. My footsteps echoed loudly against the polished floor as I moved forward, my presence impossible to miss.
"Where is she?" I demanded immediately.
