TESSA.
A nurse walked in, brisk footsteps cutting into the silence, a clipboard tucked against her chest.
"Good morning," she said, voice bright enough to feel wrong inside the dim hospital room. "You're finally awake."
'Good morning.' The words felt too light, too normal.
I frowned. "Morning?"
She nodded, a sympathetic tilt to her head. "You've been out for hours," she explained. "You gave us quite a scare."
I glanced toward Sophie again, looking for… certainty? Answers? Yet, she just gave me a soft smile, too soft, too careful. Like she was trying not to let anything slip through the cracks.
The nurse turned toward Sophie and smiled politely, "The doctor will be here soon to check on her." Her tone shifted slightly as she faced me again. "Are you feeling anything unusual? Dizzy? Nauseous? Any numbness?"
I shook my head slowly. "Just… tired."
