Chapter 1 - Chapter1:God works in mysterious ways, huh? part1

Warm.....like a comforting embrace that gives of the feeling of safety.

dark but not pitch black. this ominous yet almost welcoming domain accompanied by what seems like a dark-pink colored mist that's appears so faintly it could be mistaken as a soft-rosy red at first glance.

A soft sweet, fragrance danced in the air, a blend of Sakura petals, lavender, and other uniquely fresh aromas complementing each other like a beautiful harmony.

'...did i die?'

A soft hum is made by what seems to be a young woman as she begins to come to.

She blinks a couple of times as her sight adjust to the dim lighting.

As the young woman's eye's adjust she finds herself at a long table with chairs that are accompanied by specter like entities that mostly takes up a shape that roughly resemble other woman. There are a few others that cannot be determined due to how the entities seem to be flowing and fluctuating, similarly to that of a raging but silent flame.

Although hard to make out clearly, the young woman noticed how the other entities seem to be looking down the end of the long table. a large Throne that towers compared to the rest of the chairs the entities are sitting in,

A luminescent ball of energy that emits a dark pink light, giving off an ominous vibe and almost intimidating atmosphere, making the unknown entity whose sitting on the throne even more enigmatic.

The entities whos sit before the one on the throne all shared the same question

"Who..."

"Who.. "

"Who..."

"Who the hell-"

"-are you...!?"

The thoughts of the entities are all seemingly projected in unison causing a dramatic echo sending a faint gust of wind within the unknown domain.

The mysterious entity who's form closely resembles a shadowy figure on the throne interlocking their finger together prepped up over where its mouth should be.

"..."

The entity remains silent for a brief moment before a chilling smile stretches widely on its shadowy face, it's mouth emits a warm pink light. The entity then inhales as it begins to speak, the other entities all hold there breath in anticipation..

"Ayo are you listening to me?"

Said a women dryly. she had light brown skin, gray strains of hair signifying her age despite the lack of many wrinkles on her face.

She's speaking to a young man who stands a few feet away from the older woman, his skin a darker shade than the woman and his height towers over her. His hair in a nappy afro, oval shaped-glasses that was worn over his face.

His gaze, a mix of frustration, confliction, and defeat.

"Yes, I'm listening..."

"You have two weeks to decide on what you'll do. And if by the end you haven't gotten a job your out!"

The older woman pauses for a moment letting her words sink in before turning to leave out of the small room slamming the door shut, leaving the boy by himself with just him and his thoughts.

He lets out a deep sigh before sitting on the edge of his bed, removing his glasses with one hand and grabbing the bridge of his nose with the other.

"How does she not understand..? If i didn't let her dictate my life for this long I wouldn't be so paralyzed to make a decision on my own..."

Ayo said, his voice low enough for only him to hear. He lays back on his bed, his forearm covering his eyes.

'Some say that what i'm experiencing is generational, like someone in my family passed on the fear of getting a job or something. But I doubt it..everyone in my family are darn workaholics!'

Ayo thought eternally his brow furrowed slightly, he lets out a heavy and frustrated sigh.

"I feel so incompetent..its been a year since I've graduated high-school, many kids my age are either working or have gone to a college! Yet here i am still not sure what's the right decision! Its either be a slave for a job that drains my soul away or be in debt for half my life for a degree that most likely wont get me a good job..."

Ayo sighed defeated

"God...I don't know if this part of your will, I don't know if i'm entirely the problem but if I am..please fix me"

Tears began welling up in his eyes

"I cant put my true feelings into words...so please hear my words..the cries of of my heart, my spirit, anything! Anything that tells you what i'm truly feeling please, God...help me.."

Ayo's voice came out shaky, yet quiet, he knew it was more than just wanting to get a job, or go to college but even then the words of what he truly desired didn't dare come out..

Suddenly the surroundings started to shift and distort. Despite his forearm blocking his view, he could still vividly see his room warping as if his eyelids and forearm were translucent.

'!?'

It took Ayo a moment to realize what was happening, his widening as he realizes the world distorting and meshing together in a way that made his head spin.

Nausea hitting him like an unexpected surprise.

Instinctively, Ayo immediately went to sit up straight.

To Ayo's surprise it seemed like he couldn't

Because he had already been sitting up.

No.

More like...standing up?

No.

If he was standing he would be feeling his feet touch the ground.

And yet.

"Huh..?"

He couldn't feel his feet touching the ground.

Or to be more accurate he couldn't feel his feet at all.

Ayo looks down where his feet are meant to be, just to find-

"Hm?"

His legs are gone.

Nowhere to be seen.

Just luscious green grass that swayed gently in the wind, filled his view.

"Woah-!"

The moment his mind processed the sight he immediately stuck his hand out to catch himself, but instead nothing came forward to catch himself.

"What the..? where's my arms? Where's my legs..? Why am i floating..?!"

The questions in Ayo's mind began stacking up upon each other like uneven blocks each one carrying an even heavier weight on his psyche before eventually snapping.

"WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING?!?"
