Chapter 12 - Wetland Lizard People

They followed Chairman McCann, who was heavily pregnant, had a chubby face, and always had a smile in his eyes, into the back hall.

This area is more spacious than the front hall, and as far as the eye can see, there are countless iron cages.

It was piled up to three layers high.

However, the air here doesn't smell bad; on the contrary, it's quite fresh, which shows that they've put in a lot of effort.

They bypassed the imprisoned slaves and arrived at the central area.

Twenty cages were laid flat on the ground, one after another.

At this moment, the target of this mission is being held in the cage.

Wetland lizard people.

Its body is covered by a thick layer of scales, providing defense comparable to metal armor.

The scales, tinged with green and grayish-brown, form a natural camouflage pattern, making it easy to hide in the swamp.

It walks upright, with its thick limbs bulging with muscles, and its fingers as sharp as daggers, gleaming with a dazzling cold light.

The head is that of a lizard, with amber eyes filled with ferocity and savagery, and razor-sharp teeth visible when the mouth is open.

These are a pack of ferocious beasts, born killing machines!

As he stared at it, the panel reappeared in his mind.

Wetland Lizardmen

[Equipment]: None

[Evaluation]: A ferocious swamp creature.

Lear was somewhat surprised.

Potential 1 star? His potential is 2 stars.

He had never heard of potential rating; it was clear that the intelligence system had quantified all of this.

This way he can have a direct understanding.

These swamp creatures have reached the maximum of their potential: Level 6!

It seems that the intelligence system still has great potential to be explored.

Upon seeing someone approaching, those ferocious creatures, whose hands and feet were bound by heavy shackles, and whose necks were even tightly chained, immediately became agitated.

"!!!"

""

"!"

The lizard language emitted harsh curses.

Despite being in a cage, he felt no fear whatsoever.

Some even charged directly at the cages, baring their teeth and tearing at the iron bars, making a sharp scraping sound.

Upon seeing this, McCann, who was heavily pregnant, looked rather displeased.

"When the other party was captured and brought back last week, there were more than three squadrons, totaling 342 people."

"Now, only two squadrons remain, totaling 203 men."

McCann turned to look at Lear.

"The Ring of Slavery can cause psychological harm to the controlled slaves."

"No one can withstand the pain that comes from the soul."

"But these wetland lizardmen remained mad even after being controlled by the Ring of Enslavement."

His face looked rather pale.

"In my twenty years of working in the slave trade, I have encountered only a handful of races that are not afraid of the cycle of enslavement."

It's no wonder that the arena is unwilling to buy these lives.

The Ring of Slavery can transmit pain directly to the soul, and even the fiercest orcs cannot withstand it.

But these lives can forcefully resist, who the hell can you reason with?

Lear's gaze was deep.

When injured or attacked, these creatures will fall into a state of brutality, unafraid of pain.

Although the Ring of Enslavement is a magical item, it cannot erase the other person's nature.

This is the characteristic of the wetland lizard people.

If it's an enemy, then it's going to be a headache, but if it's your own subordinates, a group of killing machines that are unafraid of pain and fear.

Isn't this the greatest happiness?

"Do you still wish to make a purchase?"

"If you still need it, I can offer you the lowest price."

McCann thought Lear would back out, but to his surprise, after a moment's hesitation, Lear casually asked about the price.

What is the lowest price?

McCann raised one hand, then hesitated for a moment, then bent three fingers.

"20 gold coins!"

"My purchase price is 40 gold coins!"

This deal was a huge loss; he bought them for 30 gold coins each.

But if he doesn't sell, he's unsure how many of the two hundred wetland lizardmen will still be alive next week.

He needed to get rid of these unlucky things as soon as possible; he really didn't want to see them anymore.

Selling now at a loss is fine, but it won't leave you with nothing.

"10 gold coins!"

"I bought them all!"

"10 gold coins?"

McCann's chubby face twitched, but seeing that Lear didn't seem very interested, he gritted his teeth.

"I'll sell it!!"

These two hundred people should be enough to recoup the cost of two thousand gold coins.

If we don't sell, not a single hair will be left.

Few of those who come to buy slaves are fools; there's simply no market for wetland lizardmen.

If he hadn't had connections at the Colosseum, he wouldn't have even considered buying it.

Who knew that the person in charge was suddenly transferred after the wetland lizardmen arrived, leaving the shipment unattended and stuck with the goods.

Lear said softly.

"President McKen, there's a problem. I've bought too many resources recently, and I only have 1,000 gold coins left."

"Could I pay a deposit of 1000 gold coins first, and then pay the remaining 1000 gold coins three days later?"

The intelligence will be updated tomorrow, then we can take another chance and earn 1000 gold coins; the chances are high.

If all else fails, borrow some money from Fei Le Na through Jiebei (a loan service).

We're all so familiar with each other, old friends who've met twice already. Lending another thousand or so gold coins wouldn't be too much to ask, right?

Just as McKen was about to speak, a shrill scream suddenly rang out.

The two lizardmen went berserk and violently stormed the iron cage.

Its head and claws scratched and tore at it wildly, its throat emitting shrill and terrifying roars.

Its fierce posture was astonishing.

McCann turned around and his expression changed drastically, but he hadn't even had time to react.

Bang! Bang! Two explosions rang out.

The heads of the two crazed wetland lizardmen exploded like watermelons, spraying blood everywhere.

He died on the spot.

The cycle of enslavement.

If a slave enslaved by the Ring of Slavery fiercely resists, the Ring of Slavery will blow off the slave's head.

To reach this level, one must first endure extreme, soul-tearing pain. Ordinary beings would succumb and submit if they could not reach this level.

But in the past few days, the wetland lizardmen have bombed it hundreds of times.

But if these lizardmen aren't bound by the ring of enslavement, they will be ten or a hundred times more insane than they are now.

McCann's face stiffened, and he looked at Lear with concern.

"Your Excellency, it is I."

But before he could finish speaking, bang!

Another explosion rang out.

The smell of blood became strong again.

McCann completely broke down, letting out a hysterical roar.

"Damn bastards, I'll never buy from these bastards again in my life!"

They are truly fearless!

"Sir, 1000 gold coins, all sold to you. Now, take them away immediately!"
