Ifrit finally decided to return to Penacony.
As for whether he would return to the Rangers afterward,
La Mancha couldn't help but laugh out loud:
"You're a Galaxy Ranger for a day, you're a Galaxy Ranger for life! I won't believe it. If the Thousand Arrows token lights up somewhere in the galaxy one day, could you really resist rushing over?"
Ifrit, who had been feeling a bit melancholic, also smiled at this.
"You're right. I'm a former Nameless, and I'm a Galaxy Ranger. This time, I will take the will of the Galaxy Rangers and bring fairness and justice to my former comrades."
"Well said."
La Mancha smiled and patted Ifrit's shoulder.
Then he took a bullet from his pocket and handed it over.
"This..."
No extra communication was needed; a single glance was enough.
Ifrit recognized it immediately.
It was a Thousand Arrows token.
And the meaning of La Mancha handing it to him was self-evident.
The Family blocking you from returning home is definitely suspicious.
The Galaxy Rangers cannot invade just based on malicious suspicion.
But if you, Ifrit, discover something on Penacony.
If injustice is happening on Penacony.
If you need help.
Then fire this bullet into the long night.
It will illuminate the path for all Galaxy Rangers, leading everyone to tear apart the black curtain of the night.
And he, La Mancha, would rush to the front.
To fire the first shot of resistance for his comrade.
"Thank you."
The thousands of words in Ifrit's heart were condensed into a soft thank you.
He solemnly accepted the bullet.
And carefully tucked it away against his body.
This was like an amulet.
It was also the blessing of the Galaxy Rangers upon him.
...
'Star-shatterer' did not participate in the Galaxy Rangers' farewell.
Instead, after confirming the departure time,
she found a deserted place.
Clutching the token from Acheron.
She allowed Nihility to gradually erode her, and then successfully plunged into that desolate world.
The moment she landed,
Acheron's voice rang out from behind:
"Back so soon? I thought I would find you being hunted."
Hearing Acheron's voice,
'Star-shatterer' turned around and said with a smile:
"The other Annihilation Gang Lords remained inactive and watched the entire war. And, I think I guessed why."
"Why?"
"Zhurong was the Annihilation Gang Lord born to destroy Harmony, but he represents Order, and conveniently, I represent Harmony..."
'Star-shatterer' did not elaborate, but Acheron understood.
Harmony swallowed Order.
And Order left a trace of dissonance within Harmony.
This led to the occasional appearance of an Order believer within the Harmony faction, causing trouble.
Zhurong consistently upheld Order and rule, attempting to use it to subvert the concept of Harmony.
And 'Star-shatterer' just happened to be the Emissary of Harmony.
Nanook likely intentionally wanted to see what the outcome of the struggle between the two of them would be.
"Then you are truly fortunate to have avoided being hunted."
'Star-shatterer' shrugged with a smile.
It was less luck.
And more credit to the intelligence.
She didn't know which Path Zhurong represented, but Star-shatterer replacing Zhurong was established fact.
Although her past self didn't know the reason, there was definitely some connection between the two.
And she, following this single piece of information to cause trouble for Zhurong,
was certainly not running around aimlessly.
"But you still need to be careful."
Acheron's gaze fell on 'Star-shatterer's right arm.
The formerly beautiful arm had been replaced with a mechanical one, which, despite its contrasting aesthetic, looked startling and evoked pity.
"I know this isn't your own body, but you shouldn't make a habit of doing such things."
'Star-shatterer' blinked, then smiled and took Acheron's hand:
"Thank you for your concern. This was an accident. After all, it was an Emanator's final desperate strike. Losing only an arm is already a good outcome."
The Phase Flame was not omnipotent. The intense Path collision at the time made the entire battlefield extremely chaotic.
'Star-shatterer' couldn't use the Phase Flame to simply launch a self-destructing Emanator away, like she did with Herta.
Moreover, as the initiator of the attunement,
'Star-shatterer' herself couldn't simply Phase Shift away.
If the attunement became unstable, a large number of Galaxy Rangers would die.
Since 'Star-shatterer's body was only temporary anyway.
She didn't think there was anything wrong with her choice.
But she was still happy that Acheron cared about her.
Acheron raised her hand and stroked 'Star-shatterer's head.
She didn't continue the topic and asked instead:
"What do you plan to do next?"
Although Acheron hadn't asked, she could generally sense that it wasn't time for Baiming to change her identity yet.
"I plan to visit Penacony next."
"Penacony? Why?"
Acheron tilted her head in confusion.
"I met someone among the Galaxy Rangers who is a former Nameless. He was deeply involved in Penacony's independence, but he's currently being blocked by the Families and isn't allowed to see his old comrades."
"So, what is your reason?"
"As for me... The Family is using a Stellaron to stabilize the Memoria, and I'm curious about that technology. Since I'm an Annihilation Gang Lord and understand a bit about Harmony, I want to go and research it."
Besides this point,
there was another, less convenient reason to mention:
'Star-shatterer' was actually quite bothered by the ending of the Penacony plot in the original game.
That plotline was great in almost every respect, but the final wrapping up of the Stellaron matter felt anticlimactic and rushed.
They built up all these big things to come, but then they didn't follow through.
Now, her identity and abilities were suitable.
She was determined to go and take a look.
Although she wouldn't be able to see the full picture.
After all, there were at least a few hundred years before the main story began.
But to see the Stellaron.
Oh, and the living Mikhail, she could also check up on him.
It would be a way to make up for some regrets.
Hmm...
She wondered what the future would hold for the Astral Express crew when they eventually returned to Penacony.
She wondered what changes would occur now that Ifrit hadn't died in the battle against Zhurong but was instead returning to Penacony.
The truth is,
whether Dan Heng would board the Express and whether Blade would become a Stellaron Hunter were still up in the air.
'Star-shatterer' rubbed her smooth chin.
She felt like she hadn't been in this world for long,
yet the future main plot was already being altered beyond recognition by her actions.
Whatever.
She decided not to worry about it.
Her current lifespan was only a hundred years; whether she would even survive until the main story began was another question entirely.
...
After spending a day with Acheron,
she returned to reality.
She met Ifrit, who was ready to depart.
And beside Ifrit...
The tall woman with the blade was also standing there.
"Camille is a very good comrade of mine. She plans to join me on the trip to Penacony, saying she wants to see the sights there."
Ifrit generously introduced his companion.
The Galaxy Ranger named Camille, wearing light armor, bowed slightly to Star-shatterer.
"We appreciate the trouble, Madam Star-shatterer."
"It's no trouble. Get on the ship; I'll take you to Penacony."
'Star-shatterer' wondered what kind of changes the addition of these two Galaxy Rangers would bring to Penacony.
But there would definitely be some changes.
The future of Penacony.
