Lilian's POV
I surveyed the elaborate breakfast display covering the dining table. Eggs, fluffy pancakes, some type of creamy porridge, an assortment of pastries - this wasn't just excessive, it was enough to feed half the neighborhood.
"Have you eaten yet?" I ventured.
His response was curt. "I have."
A knot formed in my throat. Without another word, I grabbed two takeout containers and began packing a pancake with two eggs. Even after filling both bags, mountains of food remained untouched.
"Augusto, you really don't need to prepare this much every morning. Most of it ends up wasted, and cooking all this must be exhausting. You could easily grab something from a drive-through, order delivery, or ask your assistant to pick up coffee and pastries."
I gestured at the abundance before us. "This is wasteful - both the food and your valuable time."
