Lilian's POV
A chill ran through my entire body as I sat frozen on the hospital bench.
Rosie was fighting for her life just floors above me.
Augusto already held nothing but contempt for me, and Vance's disgust for my family was no secret. The thought of my father approaching them now, of all times, made my stomach churn with dread.
My hands shook as I dialed Dad's number. Each call went straight to voicemail. Desperation clawing at my chest, I finally called Mom.
She picked up after a few rings, her voice thick with tears. "Lilian? Oh sweetheart."
"What happened now? Did you hear about your father's newest scheme? He's completely lost his mind. I barely said anything and he just exploded at me."
"Mom, listen to me," I cut through her sobs urgently. "Where is Dad right now? Tell me he's still at home."
