**Reed's POV**
Lorelei grabbed the phone and dialed my number immediately.
I was already speeding toward Jenifer when Lorelei's name lit up my screen. My hands clenched the steering wheel as I hesitated for just a moment, then picked up.
The second the call connected, Lorelei's broken, tearful voice poured through. "Reed, please come bail me out," she begged, sounding completely desperate.
Hearing Lorelei on the verge of falling apart made my heart split between guilt and duty.
But this was the first time Jenifer had ever reached out to me. Whatever Lorelei said, I wasn't letting up on the gas pedal.
Jenifer asking for help meant she was facing something serious.
When I stayed quiet, Lorelei's voice shook with panic. "Reed, I think I'm getting sick. I really don't want to stay here at the station. Can you please come get me?"
Her voice was gentle, scared, pleading—completely different from usual.
My forehead creased as I wrestled with the choice.
