Jenifer's POV
"But after we eat, you'll have to drop me off at my place before heading home," I added.
Elise quickly shook her head. "Not at all, Ms. Zach. You really stood up for me today, finally got to vent all my frustration. I'm honestly so happy."
Elise laughed, "I used to think if someone hit me, I had to fight back myself. I never knew you could actually call the police over just a slap."
I looked at her with pure affection in my eyes.
I'd always wanted a little sister to dote on, and now having Elise around felt just like that.
Elise would not only stand up for me but also curse out anyone who messed with me and get genuinely angry whenever I was treated unfairly.
Even though there was zero family connection, Elise was honestly a true gem in my eyes.
After we ate, I didn't want my folks to get all worried about me getting hurt, so I just went back to my own place instead of going home.
When Elise saw that my place was totally empty, her sympathy kicked in hard.
